Interesting issue. After I updated my game today, this mod was completely removed from the list. Tried unsub and resub, loading a game with it in its mods list, nothing. Maybe something changed in todays patch?

I solved my own issue, the problem was with Better Pawn Control Mod, I solved it by uninstalling the mod, then making a save in game without mod. Then I deleted all folders in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\HugsLib\persistedStorage with the BPC prefix. Then reinstalling everything back. Now everything works. (fixed with chatgpt)

i have an issue where if I go to space and open the tab to change work priorities, the work tab stays on the screen permanently, and I cannot open any other tabs (such as research, quests, etc...) and my mouse does not click on anything in game (pawns, items, etc...). I can click on the pawn bar to switch between planet and asteroid, but cannot selects individual pawns, as said previously.

Hi all! I have the following problem: I started the first campaign on version 1.6 and in this new game I have only one colonist - he is a wolfman (from "Vanilla Races Expanded - Lycanthrope" mod) and transforms every evening and morning. So, when he morph from lycan to wolfman in the morning, all his work priority settings are reset.
Is there a way for me to fix it?

WorkTab.DefaultPriority keeps reverting back to 3 also.

While hovering the job type (firefight for example), holding shift + scroll does not increase/decrease priority. Shift + lclick/rclick does the job, but not scrolling.

You changed mod id there. It breaks other mods trying top detect is mod loaded or not. Also it breaks LoadFolders.xml of other mods trying to load something specific for WorkTab

I seem to be having a similar issue as LunaticFanatic7 does, as in, my pawns do EVERY task that falls in the same category, even when only assigned to one of them (like having "rescue" on 2 and all other doctoring tasks to won't do, but they'll still treat wounds). I do not, however, use BPC, and I have not installed any new mods before it started to bug out, so I'm not really sure what's causing this. I'll be sure to test some stuff and see if I overlooked something, but right now I'm very confused as to why this is happening

As usual when Workshop is getting hammered, if you didn't get the 1.6 version update and want it, unsub and resub to the mod! Already noticed issues with favorites when importing from a diff modlist I'd like to fix if I keep playing Rimworld with new DLC.

If you use BPC you need to use the other version that shares the original ID so BPC's compat kicks in. I prefer to not interfere with the original IDs, and BPC never updated their compat patch to include mine I guess, so that's been an outstanding issue, sadly.

Turns out it was colliding with "Better Pawn Control" Mod. (Maybe its only for me) But seems like it fixed nothing gets reseted or gets ticked automaticly. Luv u

Hey got you Online and i want to report something real quick. For example i set 2 of my pawns to Only and ONLY to Cut Trees you know but when i close the tab and contiune the game it sets those 2 pawns to cut, extract etc all type of work in that specific category. So Is that a bug that collides with something or me being stupid :D Light me up!

I have found the culprit in my mod list, it is Better Pawn Control

I can reproduce the problem with the following mod list:
Rimworld core
all DLCs
Harmony
Work Tab 1,5 Temp
Better Pawn Control

As I suspect another mod to interfer, any idea which types of mods that could cause this or for logs to look at?

Doesn't save after you close the work tab, it sets everything to the lowest number in the series of tasks.

@Cyber it's likely an issue with licensing/PR/maintainability. (licensing less so since MIT is permissive, but not all mods that people say should be added to vanilla are) Optics-wise some people take moral issue with creators simply integrating the work of others into the main product, and it presents an issue for long-term maintenance because what used to be an open-source mod is now integrated into a closed source game, so who manages it, how does it factor into the update cycle, etc. Whenever you try to merge FOSS and proprietary it's a bit of a headache. Definitely doable, but definitely a headache.

(personally, given RW already has little in the way of DRM, I think just making the game itself open source or source-available is probably the best bet at this point. Even if Ludeon didn't want people making PR's to the main code base making the code public would at least mean the community could make a complete overhaul/fix mod a lot easier. )

For those experiencing priority reset issues, try this temp update instead by DomB:

As other's have suggested, it's likely an incompatibility with Better Pawn Control and how these temporary updates were named within the code/XML. Using the above mod fixed it for me and others.

I really wish Ludeon would finally give Fluffy credit where credit is due and just put half his mods in vanilla. It's ridiculous how crippling it is not to have practically all of his mods and he's only one man. The pressure to keep this stuff updated must be immense.

Definitely issues with the mod all around, the moment you change priorities, and an alert, or a new pawn comes onto the map, pawn returns, pawn goes on caravan etc. Everyone's priorities reset. Getting real annoying :(

@DomB Regarding the change of mod ID, I prefer to make temp updated versions that way so it doesn't require unsubscribing from the original. I realize this has caused issues with other mods using ID to add additional changes, but so it goes.

@Alien Xenomorph If you had Better Pawn Control installed that is the likely cause of the issues due to the way it handles subtasks, but I'll check my modlist and see if I have any cases of the same.

It's seems mod has deeper problem then just name tag. Then I set my pawns to clear snow with higher priority they start to clear filth (even then I disable all other cleaning jobs). Testing with mining jobs shown the same results. Priorities of all subtasks are set to the highest job one. Rename of mod fix only visual issure. Removing of Better Pawn Control has change nothing.

This helps incase you validate your game files, or somehow cause a redownload of Arofs mod, which would result in your manual edit reverting.

I can confirm that changing the mod's modName to "Work Tab" in the About.xml seems to fix it's compatibility issues with Better Pawn Control

Just wanted to let anyone else know that is also using the Work Manager mod (Found here ---> https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2029596262) as well as this mod and noticed the ui compatibility issue. You can restore that mods compatibility with this temporary fork by making and using instead, a local copy of this mod, "Fluffy's Worktab Fork (Temp 1.5 Fix)" and changing the "name" and "packageId" in the "About.xml" file to:

<ModMetaData>
<name>Work Tab</name>
<author>Fluffy, patched by arof</author>
<packageId>Fluffy.WorkTab</packageId>

This restores compatibility and allows this mod to function fully until either fluffys return, or until these mods add support for compatibility.

I hope this helps others out there!

hello! thank you so much for doing this! i have a quick question. i want to use this mod in relationship with the mod in the following link. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3223881925&searchtext=ghoul

ghouls don't show up in the work tab with this mod, but it does with vanilla work tab. Is there a way to make it work ? I am not familiar with coding but if there is a simple fix on my end or a file i can simply edit, i would love to do so!

May want to rephrase the description then, because the way it's written it sounds like you took your old 1.3 version (code and all), not just hijacked its mod page.

Thank you for your digging. I'd made the assumption this was based on 1.3 (as several others have) so figured whatever made the two work together was not here; didn't realize it was a simple matter of BPC not realizing Work Tab was running.

Changed the mod name in About/about.xml and confirmed it showed up as such in my mod list. I added BPC and it worked without the subtask reset even after quitting / reloading game.

So, I guess that solves that. Probably should be left as a workaround though, since this is not the main version of Work Tab.

@upuaut Try it again. It worked for me. Even after restarting the game it remembers the sub-task priorities.

Figured out why it wasn't working with Better Pawn Control, BPC detects Work Tab by it's name and enables integration if the mod name is found. [github.com] But cos name was changed the integration isn't working rn.

The easy fix for now would be changing

to:

I will add I did boot up the game again to make sure it's working on the newest patch and ran into a bug, but not in this mod. It appears the Royalty Tweaks mod I was using was somehow breaking everything due the way it changed disabled work types, which its author had already fixed, but the workshop decided I needed to unsub/resub to get said fix. I'm back on the current live copy of this mod and everything is functional.

This was built from the 1.4 branch as a base, not my original 1.3 tweaked version. I just reused the existing workshop ID; the code inside is all new. I also applied the minimum tweaks needed from his base code on Github to get it to build and function basically, I haven't actually ended up playing 1.5 that much myself due to RL stuff and other game updates.

Some of the pending pull requests on the github may help resolve some of the compatibility issues as the way it handles the UI, chunking of jobs, and the assignment of sub-jobs will frequently conflict with anything else interacting with work assignment priorities, which is to be expected. Until or unless I end up playing more, I expect that to stay unfixed from this patched version, as I don't use any of the additional mods myself.

Hey thanks a bunch for the temp fix!

I'm not on which end it needs correcting, but any chance on a compatibility fix for the "Work Manager" mod? https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2029596262

As of now both mods work while enabled together, however the ui elements from Work Manager do not show on the worktab itself, making most of work manager impossible to use.

@shiverczar I don't have either of the mods you listed, but I do have Priority Master, so I think a similar issue is happening with that.
