Thanks! I am still messing around with it, but most of the systems are final.

I am currently playing with water hookups for fire fighting scenarios, and then I think I will be finished.

A version of this craft which is reconfigured to a SAR vehicle would be a good idea so keep it up

Awesome, thank you! Been taking the chance to learn a lot about how vehicle building works by modifying the original and making heads or tails out of what is already under the hood. Hope it won't go too far out Sandine lore, but there are quite a bit of electronics slowly making their way on board. Will share something when I feel it is ready.

I bought into Stormworks finally once I saw the awesome collection of airships here on the Workshop. I have flown a whole bunch of them by now, and the Pilum-Class is now my main workhorse ship for SAR operations. I love the design and basic functionality, it feels like a Jeep of the airship world (even though the setup is far from simple!)

Thanks for creating and sharing this awesome vessel! It's up there amongst my favorites to fly :)

On a sidenote, as this ship was originally created for border patrol, to get her up to SAR spec I ended up doing a complete equipment refit in the vehicle editor. I am still learning about how vehicle editing and logic works, but would you mind one day once i polish it up, if I shared my SAR variant here? I would of course give you all proper credits and link back to the original vessel.

wheels impart so much force you could load an entire 56m hangar with weight blocks and it'd barely take 6 wheels to lift them. also no, the solid fuel is purely aesthetic. i didn't even know it would explode, since this was made before weapons.

Also, does the solid rocket fuel in the dirigible serve any purpose other than exploding when it's taken a massive enough hit? Asking so we can know if replacing them with munitions will affect its ability to fly. and one more thing, how do you get it to fly regardless of mass?

visually, it's a block which has the appearance of a wheel axle with no rim or tire

i used a position fixer, which is a 3x3 wheel with a negative radius. it totally locks the vehicle in place for both pitch and roll.

I noticed you only have one pair of wheels instead of the 4 that ZE uses. How do you deal with pitch with just one pair?

it doesn't differ at all. I use a secondary body on a pivot to push up against the bottom of a wheel, which is all there is to it. it also works with non-suspension wheels, though i only found that out recently. you can use a pid or whatever to monitor the pivot's angle, which varies the force the wheel is imparting to the ship.
