I made a small mod fixing this, I don't know if it happens to more people, but since it bothered me a little, I ended up doing it, but congratulations on the mod, I really liked it

I had to modify the "lava_add" file and make it all black, then it solved the problem

For me, there is no gradient like in your images, for me, a little above the lava there is a visible cutout between the lava's insulation and the darker ceiling.

Stage 13 to teleport directly to home and Debug 10 to insta kill dogma is probably the quickest way

Hm, is there a way to quickly teleport to the Hell fight with console commands or something so I can try with all other mods disabled?

maybe an issue with your game then? i am not sure. it should look the same as it does in the screenshots still

There's a line halfway down the screen where everything below it is suddenly not as dark.
It's not a monitor issue, because in the screenshots on this page it looks fine.

For the perfection it is worth making lava darker too. It stands out too much against the background

idk what you mean with darkness overlay but everything seems fine to me, it might be an issue with something on your end

(seriously the fact Ed previously made an almost-identical looking hell in super meat boy that DOESNT make my eyes bleed, genuinely why did he think staring at bright red while dodging projectiles was a good idea?????????????)

I tried to see what would happen if I just change the black from lava_add.png transparent and export the result as a PNG, but that seems to just delete the effect from both lava_add.png and background_fog.png somehow (Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/aNicHE6) . This is how it looks if I just manually delete lava_add.png: (https://imgur.com/a/pCAtnVQ) . I guess the best thing for me to do is to just remove that file myself, but is it possible to add doing that as an option via like a mod config menu for anyone else with the problem?

yeah if it's not gamma i'm not exactly sure what would be causing the lines. you can see there's some in my screenshots too but they're not as visible as yours. my best guess is it's just because of how the game handles the brightness of effects, or maybe the game actually has a subtle posterization effect that's only noticeable on a smooth enough, dark to light gradient (i'm really not sure (sorry))

Hi, wondering if you know the reason why the lava_add.png gradient just creates a weird line on some devices instead of adding the fading lava effect its supposed to have. Saw someone else mention it earlier in the comments, but its def doesnt seem to be an issue of gamma since it looks the same on 3 different devices I tried. It looks like this: https://imgur.com/uX98bBq I even tried to enter the fight with no other mods (aside from repentogon, but this has been a thing since before I installed that) enabled but still have this problem so really not sure whats causing it.

makes the beast fight MUCH more climactic

Ok so after killing the beast for the first time I can confirm. This mod IS COMPATIBLE with "The beast laugh when Isaac takes damage" and it goes really well with it.

I can't say for sure because I just unlocked the alt paths yesterday... But i'll let you know. Maybe a simple change can fix it.

I suppose it should work with "the beast laugh when you take damage" mod right? I mean he said he simply used the unused laugh animation (which I suppose you edited).

The mods might clash from the differing beast_bg.png files but other than that they should work fine, you can take the color from my beast_bg and add it to the beast_bg of the mod you want to use with it, if you want
