The Theodosian Walls? The Walls of Carthage? Well, why not? Enjoy version v1.3 - you can build fortresses in cities now! :-) I guess the -25% pop growth modifier will make it that you'll think twice before you build this in a small-medium city that can still profit from pop growth. Let me know how it plays.

I can't give you a contrary view else than the argument that i have another mod that provides Stone Walls III as a level that is blocken when i use your mod alsongside. That's a bit of a bummer nothing more. I understand that such massive walls would hinder a growing city, but if thats true couldn't you add a modifier i.e. -25% pop growing add to the fortress?

It's not available in cities by design. The idea is that these walls are so massive and compact that they would not hold a growing city.

I thought about making these available for cities, but then it would have to be very expensive imho. I guessed too expensive to be worth it. I'm open to contrary views though.

Had one really successful use of it. Used navy to capture a sea city on a reach move to open a flank. Stone walls, Fortress, double warehouse. Winter came and I had 8 levies in the city defending. Three apposing cities combined to attack. My units dropped to 1/2 strength but I still had enough to hold the level 7 city from revolt and beat back the waves of reinforcements. They ran out of recruits. Winter ended,

Yes, it would have felt strange to be able to build these from day one in 600-500 BC. If you have historical evidenceto the contrary, though, then I'm all ears!

Doesn't seem to work w CW8. :( . The option is there in the build menu but when I construct battlements on fort or a city I can't upgrade them to the scorpio platform.

I have no idea about the AI to be honest. This mod comes directly from the bakery :-)
