It's a bit bizarre, but I'm a fan of "gimmick" weapons so I'll give it a thumbs up.

I dunno how it will work, but I'll be amazed if Valve accepts this into the game despite how bizarre it is.

Just make it a weapon for Medic and I'm sold.

Um, yes, but not *this* close-quarter.
Pyro flame throwers actually reach medium range, as the swarm of short-lived invisible floating hitboxes that deal the damage actually extends beyond the visible fire particles, and changes shape depending on if the Pyro moves forwards or backwards. It would work fine as a melee weapon with a long reach similar to the Demoman's swords. To balance out the increased melee reach it could have slower weapon switch speed or normal switch speed but the need to rev up and down before and after use similar to the minigun.

i would definitley love this to see it in the actual game but i have a couple of questions will there be a pyrovision version? what are the stats? how much damage does it deal?

Add a rocket or jet pack that is charged up by running the chainsaw. Use the demoknights charge meter.

M1 runs the chainsaw and pumps gasoline onto the top of the chainsaw flinging it forward. Able to set gasoline traps, ignitable by M2, flaregun, volcano fragment, flame particles.
M2 triggers the igniter.

possible melee stats +50% movement speed while equipped +20% damage -25% fire rate - 10 damage on miss on hit +insanity on 10 hits without dying you can get full insanity which makes you can only melee and you move as fast as a scout with the rest of the set you can get it to charge in 5 hits
