For an exploration map the puzzle difficulty is fully appropriate. In such maps I prefer easier difficulty rather than hiding things. Speaking of exploration and hiding, it's perfectly done here. Everything can be found without searching too long, in fact it literally comes your way while wandering around. I like that, this is how the player can enjoy the environment without getting annoyed. Thumbs up :-)
Btw the fan part had a perfect timing for me, did it at the first try once I knew how it needed to be done. I'm not a skilled player. It may be a close timing, but it isn't too close either.
But wow, your projected texture usage was brilliant, and my god, the level design was so freaking creative! Awesome job!
- the levers - they are NOT visible in the beginning
- the two reset fields that are not working - why are they there?
the fan puzzle is my only complaint. i cannot execute timed puzzles well- and tbh timing-based stuff is bad game design. dont do that.
but i liked the rest of the map so much i faved this. :)
(probably my favorite hammer editor if you used hammer editor map so far.)
Things I like about this map:
- It has a great amount of detail
- It looks pleasing
Things I don't like about the map:
- Invisible walls or big collisionboxes on items, limiting exploration
- Why are the so many goddamn levers?
- I didn't get to use a orange portal to explore the levels myself, instead it was fixed to certain walls
- The timer of the fanblades are way too short and they're broken in a way that when they were stopped and I tried to jump, sometimes they would kill me and other times not, they were completely stopped
I did encounter one glitch though - the orange auto portal didn't/wouldn't turn on in the 2nd chamber level.
