I would like to see this mod working
havoc 13 Jun, 2022 @ 10:15am
I saw that the mod was broken, but I was hoping to take a look at how the med sprayer worked if it still does? I'm attempting to make a mod for healing foam grenades.
Le_BarnOwl 22 Mar, 2022 @ 3:36am
@pf01 I used it last night and one of the outpost AI was supposedly having a seizure and unconscious, but was just standing still as normal. Not to mention the console kept popping up with something like: "Missing affliction for "burnstate." Overall, I recommend holding off on it.
pf01 12 Jan, 2022 @ 2:08am
Anyone still know if this mod is OK to use ?

Steam has never been exactly friendly to multiple people working on one mod i think. Might need to reupload
Pitch Black 4 Dec, 2021 @ 1:18pm
I don't actually know) I suppose my information is probably outdated. Some people say that it may be a problem with the person who tries to upload mod. Ask your partner to do so, maybe it will work.
Krzeszny  [author] 4 Dec, 2021 @ 10:57am
How to open Steam Cloud settings? In Steam Settings under Cloud there are only 2 checkboxes.
Pitch Black 4 Dec, 2021 @ 8:53am
A possible solution which I found on GitHub:
Go to Steam Cloud Settings.
Set "Byte quota per user" and "Number of files allowed per user" to something else than 0.
Don't know it will help but I hope so.
Krzeszny  [author] 4 Dec, 2021 @ 8:16am
I can't update the mod. It gives me an InvalidParam error when trying to publish the update.
Pitch Black 4 Dec, 2021 @ 7:50am
Sounds like a good idea.
Krzeszny  [author] 4 Dec, 2021 @ 6:39am
Is everyone ok with adding the requirement for Morphine / Fentanyl / unconsciousness / paralysis to surgery?
In other words, unless at least 1 of those 4 is fulfilled, you can't do a surgery. The mod's update will be live in about 1 hour either way.
Krzeszny  [author] 2 Dec, 2021 @ 4:26am
Nope, wrong guess. If you looked at the new sprites, you'd know.
Triel 1 Dec, 2021 @ 6:01pm
So now you just cram the gun in during surgery instead of an injector?... I should probably play and see before saying this
Krzeszny  [author] 1 Dec, 2021 @ 5:33pm
Demopan has a point, as always.
Here's a public TEST VERSION of the new update.
Major changes: increased surgery bleeding (a Surgical Bed is required to reduce bleeding), Biofoam Injector replaced with Biofoam Spray, semi-fixed medic AI.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2670534125
If I don't get too many complaints, I'm uploading it officially tomorrow.
Triel 1 Dec, 2021 @ 5:14pm
I dont think you do surgery for broken leg tho
And then John was a zombie. 1 Dec, 2021 @ 5:13pm
I'm fine with the current recipe for Biofoam and the surgery mechanic as it CAN be used Traitorously at times if you know how to handle it. Only thing is that the risk can outweigh the benefits at times with patients if they're THAT low and have that much damage on them to where they might bleed out on the table whilst trying to fix a broken leg or internal damage. XD
And then John was a zombie. 1 Dec, 2021 @ 5:12pm
I've just started this mod use in my current SP and soon to MP but I like some of the core concepts esp since Biofoam takes a good while to ramp up and heal unless you outright put a patient on a Medbed and start cutting them open to inject them. Still yet to do that because of how dangerously low some crew have gotten and didn't wanna risk it so I bandaged them up and stuck them in a bed.

Poms are nice for an easy top up with Tonic buff if you really can't be arsed to put someone in a bed for a long heal mid voyage and Pom is a nuisance to grow/craft now since they nerfed how slow the plants grow & drop, aside from fire hazard unless you have the Water Sprinkler mod to use.
Triel 1 Dec, 2021 @ 3:55pm
i dont use pomegrenade extract a lot... Can you buy? i know you can buy blood. And in my opinion its just about balanced, especially since even if you are good at medicine, it causes some harm to you or your patient (good for murderin in multiplayer tho), I'd leave it as it is, maybe switch internal healing to something else
Krzeszny  [author] 1 Dec, 2021 @ 2:03pm
Hello and... surprise! I've prepared a major update that fixes medic AI, changes sprites and icons, makes surgery more dangerous due to bleeding, along with many minor changes. I have one final question for you.

What should happen with Pomegrenade Extract? Should its healing be nerfed, should it be limited to one dose every 25 seconds or should Biofoam require Pomegrenade Extract to fabricate?
Triel 25 Nov, 2021 @ 7:06am
Dont give your medic heal crew order, or shift-middle click medical cabinets and forbid this (that option with hand and slashed o)
And then John was a zombie. 25 Nov, 2021 @ 3:33am
The only issue I really have with this mod is the AI crew rushing the med cabinet and ODing themselves constantly. Such a pain to leave the station and your whole gun crew is passed TF out because they ran to the medbay and doped themselves up on Morphine because they have a single burn on their big toe. -__- Aside from locking it all away, is there a rule that can be set with this mod or a command given to stop them from doing this?
Kameha 23 Nov, 2021 @ 5:27am
yeah it was a bug with another mod.
Triel 17 Nov, 2021 @ 9:11am
What are you trying to use it on? Have you done the surgery properly?
Kameha 17 Nov, 2021 @ 8:27am
Is the biofoam injector bugged? or is it a mod conflicting?
Triel 30 Oct, 2021 @ 5:30pm
But either way, Antibiotic glue healing all body or having multiple uses, both work for me. At 5 uses that means you could treat all but one limb, but honestly, you dont often get someone with heavy injuries on all limbs. But i guess using the item 5 times will take a while longer than using it once
Triel 30 Oct, 2021 @ 5:29pm
How did i know that? Because unlike some people i read descriptions. Like this part 'Krzezny has taken an interest in MedOverhaul and maintaining it, so I'm handing authorship over to them so they can maintain/update the mod' (yeah it was there when i typed my previous comment)
Krzeszny  [author] 29 Oct, 2021 @ 9:18am
A contributor. How did you know that? I only accepted it right now.

And yeah, biofoam actually heals bites and lacerations. I must've misread. For now I'm planning to make antibiotic glue have 5 uses. I've always imagined the biofoam it to work by activation with blood.
Besides that, the other things I'll be changing is reducing the size of textures and adding new textures (which are already done). I also have a texture for that bullet syringe people keep asking about. It replaces Europan Worms.
But that's after dealing with 2 of my own mods (EK balance).
Triel 28 Oct, 2021 @ 6:31pm
@Krzeszny Bites. Not burns, Difference. And to the second. what a shame. But, seems like you are going to be the author now?
Krzeszny  [author] 10 Oct, 2021 @ 3:28pm
@Demopan, spraying Biofoam heals burns and lacerations on the whole body

@everyone
The author of this mod comes online once a month so there's no point in making suggestions at this point.
Triel 24 Sep, 2021 @ 5:13pm
Also yeah, since biofoam heals 'brute' damage, there should be something to heal burns in bulk
Triel 23 Sep, 2021 @ 5:59pm
Helldivers experience... Are you talking about that game where your droppod allways lands on your teammates and all?
Crypto Scavenger 27 Jun, 2021 @ 1:59am
Hey, I posted a feature request awhile back for a way to heal gunshot trauma inspired by:

https://www.theverge.com/2015/12/9/9877788/gunshot-wound-syringe-xstat-fda-approved

It would also be cool if you add the use of tweezers to remove shrapnel from bullet and frag grenades.

Thank you for taking the time to improve the game for all, here is an award.
Krzeszny  [author] 25 Jun, 2021 @ 9:59am
Adding to my antibiotic glue suggestion, another option would be to make it heal one limb at once but have 4 or 5 uses. That would be more realistic and require more effort.
Krzeszny  [author] 25 Jun, 2021 @ 9:44am
@Awesome Sauce painkillers can't heal burns.

@Insigible I'd suggest making antibiotic glue work on the whole body, because you wouldn't use a full tube on one limb anyway. Vanilla medicine sucks and it's boring. This mod is awesome. Also, antibiotic glue is underused so it's a perfect solution.
On top of that, I'd recommend renaming Bandages into "Gauze Bandages" and stopping them from healing burns altogether.
Es 23 Jun, 2021 @ 12:04am
I have discovered that pomegrenade extract works as normal still, nevermind. Good mod dude.
Es 22 Jun, 2021 @ 5:09pm
Is there a way to modify the fact that morphine cant heal anymore? It's just a bit annoying to use a stupid amount of bandages to heal 20% burns, i'd be fine with opium just healing like, 10%burns and nothing else, just a way to heal burns across the whole body, not just individual limbs would be nice. Is there anything I can do to change that perhaps?
Insigible  [author] 17 Jun, 2021 @ 11:56am
Sorry for the inactivity y'all. Been out of commission for a bit. I'm hoping to return to modding after the 26th or so. Thanks for all the bug reports!
ben.w.koski 11 Jun, 2021 @ 1:03pm
The only way to make surgery work is to follow THIS - SCANNER AND FINAL STEP IS THE ONLY 2 THAT CAN GO ON BODY, the other step go in the same order numbers 2 to 4 go to the arm or leg or head NOT the body, only when the patient is healed of wounds should you apply the finishing bandage to the body where the incision was "made"
Mr. Fister 10 Jun, 2021 @ 2:43pm
I can't seem to get the surgery to work in campaign by myself. I have the person lie down in a bed, and I scan them but I can't seem to make an incision (Med skill is 47). Whenever I do make an incision it only briefly flashes and then disappears again. Injecting biofoam does nothing, and the retractors are useless. I've tried using it on the torso, limbs, anything, but it doesn't work. Help?
ben.w.koski 10 Jun, 2021 @ 11:39am
using the method for surgery doesnt work, unless you use the scapel on anywhere but the chest it doesnt work. we found this out after we had problems so using the scapel on the arm fixes the solution
Crypto Scavenger 23 May, 2021 @ 12:20am
Cool Stuff, How about you add this:

https://www.theverge.com/2015/12/9/9877788/gunshot-wound-syringe-xstat-fda-approved

For gunshot damage.
Mr.Bando 21 May, 2021 @ 9:44pm
Reckon late stage husk infestation can be averted with surgical intervention?
Le Darko 18 May, 2021 @ 11:13am
Maybe after you use it on someone, they'll get back on their feet but after a while, they'll get KO'd again with much more severe afflictions placed on them, which means that now they'll have to get more medical support otherwise they'll die pretty fast. If there is a worry about adrenaline being OP this way, maybe introduce some sorta Adrenaline overdose, where if another Adrenaline is used within X minutes, it will instantly stun and then kill the player. But this also brings up the worry of Adrenaline being OP against hostile targets...Maybe make it more rarer? Dunno.

I'd have to properly think about medicinal items to provide more feedback, but I feel like this mod is just the same with more steps included.
