the only way seems to keep "old officers and trumpeters" in reserve. OR to NEVER go to the last age.

yes.... I made very old guys work after their retirement... Cavalry commanders and trumpeters are almost 80 years old. You need to have a lot in reserve as cavalry charges is a risky job.
I will try your trick to play only Golden age.

I started the game at the Golden Age, maybe it's different if you go through the ages, at least you found a solution to the problem.

I train a lot of officers from the old age... I kept them in "reserve" for the last age... They lead my new regiments. ;>)

The command center allows me to have heavy cavalry officers for the first ages. For the two last ages, I can make only troopers and trumpeters... so no formations allowed.

The age just before Golden age (late 18° C Louis XVI) and for golden age, the heavy cavalry officver is unavailable. He is available for the previous ages... he desapears from the stable.

Sauxhillange, you have to build a Command Centre, once you have there is a button to create Heavy Cavalry, I've put a picture in the screen shots above to show you.

I am playing Mods in which you are(were) involved.
When olaying in this mod (this mod alone without anay other mod). I cannot form any squadron of French heavy cavalry late XVIII (Louis XVI). Soldiers and musicians are available, but officers are not (but you can improve the officers... you are just unable to create them). In the end you cannot create french heavy cavalry squadrons for this age (you can just create a mob of riders).
Do you know the trick (I tried to use a dragon officer or an officer from previous age, but nothing... did I do something wrong?))

Hello, thanks for the great mod. I think Algiers should have its own janissaries (known as the odjak) since Algiers was essentially a janissary military republic. Some native troops like the Native Zwawa musqueteers and Native Siphai cavalry. These are the three main corps of the Algerian regency.

Hi Loner, thanks for the reply! I gave it a go but it didn't work unfortunately. I did skim through the modded code and it looks like some of lines for the market and dip center options are commented out. My guess is the AI somewhat relies on them being in the game. Thanks anyway :)

Marunz, if you play the vanilla version and select 'without diplomatic centre and market' ( just play it for a few seconds ) then play the mod, the settings should carry over, haven't checked it so not 100% certain it will work.

Love the mod, this one and Empire. Is there any way to disable the diplomatic centre and market like in the vanilla version? I only play against AI and I like the slower pace without having to think about trading heaps of resources.
