It's called,
DEI Faction + Unit Names restored [English]
However, if anyone wants the spreadsheets and an explanation of the method I used to make this mod, please say and I will be very happy to give them to you!
Radious is - imo - too much arcade battle, like last man standing. At least they were the last time i checked the mod (around patch 8 or so). I like the DeI content and also the feeling that moral is important again.
Anyway, thx again!
Yeah Radious wasn't that good, I don't understand why it is so popular, maybe because it was the first big overhaul.
I should totally check out Silven's mod now that he's back. It was my go-to overhaul back when the game was around patch 5-ish, but then he went dark for months and I had to bail.
DeI's content additions are amazing but the battles are a fucking slog sometimes. Still better than Radious Mod though, but what isn't?
Note:
You may notice that some of the unit descriptions are very long, or may have typos in them. This is because I've left them as the original DeI descriptions which, frankly, have always been terrible. Previously I have gone through them, cleaned them and improved them, but I haven't done that this time. This is because it takes hours to do, and I don't actually use DeI any more, so I honestly cannot sum up the effort to do it, sorry. If you're wondering what mod I use instead, I use Silven's total improvement mod. Personally I think it is far superior to DeI, partly because it doesn't try to add so much new stuff to the game.
Check here, the DeI team released a sixth part on the Workshop, called the Update Pack, that takes the old 5 part mod into the 0.9 version.
i like the divide et impera mod but dont speak latin or ancient greek, thats why i like this mod. also to call them 'historcicaly accurate' is not true anyway. if im playing as a nomad tribe for example how is it historicaly accurate for my units to be named in latin or greek? most factions would have had different names for the same units, all i want to know is if they are spearmen or bowmen etc, calling them an 18 letter latin name just makes battles more complicated
yes you're right I went through all the descriptions and shortened the ones that were too long, and just rewrote some of them that I thought were kinda bad. Glad you enjoy the mod, and I will keep the two mods separate.
@Petithardcard
A good question, with a good answer: Divide et Impera is more than just a UI overhaul, it's a gameplay overhaul too. Some people want to have the historical gameplay features but a naming system that is more familiar and easier to play with, I found having units in Latin/Greek/whatever just added an unnecessary layer of abstraction. Also, stop hating. Some people appreciate it, and no one's forcing you to download it.
So you get turned off by historical names but completely unrelated English ones are ok with you? LOL
Just a suggestion.
