There should be an in-game save option if you go into the "scenarios" tab in the main menu. If not, some developers make it so if you press 0 two times and then 1 once, they have an autosave feature. Some other scenarios also have an auto save built in.

Well, I played it once more - with sniper rifle. I lost a bunch of guys when I didn't think the first patrol was coming, and they caught up with us going up the steep pass. I restarted - same thing but only lost 1 of my 5 guys. I lost another blowing up helicopter - read below posts - your own team kills you. Then the 4 of us held a high ridge about 450 meters from the pilot rescue house - all prone. The squad handled the several enemies who came close, and I took sniper shots at 400-600 meters. I tried out both thermal scopes. In one case a guy at about 500 yards was slowly walking to the right. On the simple scope with center dot and distance indicator, I aimed about 6 inches above his head, and about 6 inches in front of him, and he walked into the round. Nice! I lost one more guy getting to the house, and this time I remembered to escape in the small helicopter. Thanks again ~Forbesy. Sorry I said those mean things before. :)

OMG - just for laughs I went back a page and I found GigaS' comment from april 13 - he said it's my own team that is shooting me as soon as I blow up the helicopter, because it must not be empty. Hahahaha. Well, in that case, I will continue to blow it up as the munitions guy #4, knowing that I'll immediately lose that guy. You said that was potentially a game-buster in SP - you were right - but fortunately I thought I needed to use the explosives guy. So I used the team switch after getting killed, then switched back to leader. IF YOU'RE PLAYING SP - SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT PLAYER BEFORE BLOWING UP THE HELICOPTER. YOUR TEAM WILL KILL YOU. That makes me feel better actually - I thought you spawned an opfor out of thin air and that wasn't realistic. But this - I can deal with. I will say this: "SP players, this is a good mission - no saves, so strategy is VERY important. Read below. Nice atmosphere, nice countryside." Thanks ~Forbesy

Well, a day later, and a new perspective. My prior posts reflect a lot of frustration. This time, with the new fatigue system, I discovered combat run is more tiring, so didn't use it. Playing SP - lot 2 guys total. Weapon: MK SW about 500 rounds total, plus thermal scope. First attempt - lost 4 guys - restarted and approached heli from the south. Then I only lost the explosive guy the instant he blew up the helicopter. Next time I will blow it up, after setting off smoke and hiding behind a rock - unless you spawn an enemy in my backpack. And this time, we stayed high - only 100 yards from the heli - we stayed on the ridge for 20 minutes killing about 10 enemies 400-600 meters away near the rescue house. Just a couple more were left, and one in the house. I was super nervous heading with the pilots to the rescue house - but no random patrols. I still don't understand why - no saves at all - but now that I know how to play it - I think it's a pretty good mission. Thanks.

All right - we destroyed the helicopter, and you spawned an opfor out of thin air and killed me - but I had switched to explosive expert. So I was able to switch to a live AI squad member. But you even then did not have a game save - what the fuck is wrong with you. So we all got wiped out in saving the pilot - it was surrounded by bad guys. I'm playing single player with AI. And the only option is to restart. You have to be totally out of your fucking mind to ruin a pretty good effort, with not one fucking save - not the ability to save - not even once, and no game save on destroying the helicopter. So I say to you - otherwise pretty good - but on sum total Fuck You. I will never try to play a coop only that doesn't allow any saves. That is just a recipe for pure boredom. Not cool man. I'm sorry you fucked it up that way - otherwise it was okay.

I'll give it one more try but this is the last time I play a coop that doesn't even have one save - I mean even Operation Green Storm that spawned umpteen millions of opfors, and was supposed to be coop 4, was doable, because it had ONE fucking save.

I see that there is something called revive - I guess if I had a live team-mate, but I'm trying to play single player - having at least ONE save would help a helluva fucking lot. LOL

Now I know why the thermal view is different in your mission. It plays in winter. In winter the temperature-differences between underground and persons, vehicles etc. give another optic through themal.

@Forbesy: Nice Mission, what do you use for a script or mod for the thermal version - effects., Looks very cool like Predatormovie but the sight with nightstalker or lasermarker are not the vanilla-sight. I have searched for this on armaholic but I don´t find it, please send a link and tell me where I can find this to install the visions as standard, thanks.

well this sucks....not sure if anyone else having issues but AI thinks i am killing friendly once heli is blown so they kill me. This is probably because the heli wasnt an empty unit when placed?? Playing SP mode

Save option grayed out in Single Player too. I see a debug console with the word 'save' typed, tried to execute it, no result.
Next time I'll have to be more careful
