Yes, you can. It is part of Granserf's investment unlock (iirc 70% or 80%). There is a horizon's gate wiki with that info if you want to see it yourself (or check the investment guide, but idk if it is updated).

i know this maybe a silly question but in the normal game can you buy essence gems?
