Since the reveals are shown upon hovering the location, a solution is to simply "memorize" such details while you carry whatever evaluations of necessary details of other gameplay conditions. Then you just return to the artifacts for the selection process.
It IS insanely annoying that the Era information in the tooltip is often wrong (apparently a game issue, so no blame on the mod), but even just knowing for sure which two civilizations the artifact is going to be from (this always seems to be correct) helps a lot when deciding which artifact sites to even dig up in the first place.
But the exact rational thinking behind (me) wishing for such a tricky solution is very simple.. QoL micro-management of Archeologists global multi-tasks (often many while they must cover great distances at least three times each!) when we seek for proper/easy Museum(s) theming.
That in fact might seem silly to some players.. but, considering the alternate frustration of us "activating" the wrong Artifacts (anytime) feels like much more than just bad lucks.
There i said it! ;)
1. uncovered signs of an ancient tribal village.
2. found the remains of a barbarian camp.
3. uncovered an iconic object left by an ancestral Hero.
Sites with just one choice are most likely these new "Heroic Artifacts", i'm guessing.
