Yes. Historically, Yuan Shao formed lasting alliances with the southern Xiongnu and Wuhuan steppe tribes and often used them as auxiliary cavalry forces. The alliance was strong even after his passing, which spelled doom for the Xiongnu and Wuhuan (look up White Wolf Mountain) as they were beaten and subdued by Cao Cao in his pacification of the north.

In the game, Yuan Shao is coded to be able to access both the Xiongnu Noble Cavalry and Shock Cavalry, but due to a CA oversight the key that allows recruitment of the shock cavalry was not fixed.

@Ismar Currently, this is a separate mod - it's very small and simple. I'll look into adding this mod into the 1.7.0 Bug Fix Mod, like my Yu Jin Sword Model fix.

@ヅ Teemo Alpha AF Yep, all this mod does is simply add Xiongnu Cavalry and Xiongnu Cataphracts to the Han Chinese military grouping. All the "faction unique permissions" that allow them to be recruited by Yuan Shao were added by CA and already present in the vanilla game.

are you sure they made this mistake? this is like Cyberpunk level of messing up...
