Other way to get it, is to ask a friend to lend you one! But, be sure that that one friend must have beaten Terraria in Master. So good luck!

I do know it’s hard to get the pet, but, I don't know if there is a Worm-Type Pet in normal mode, because, the wyvern, is a Worm enemy, and so is the phantasmal dragon, sorry
