"survivor_set", decides which set of survivors should be used. 1=L4D1, 2=L4D2
so "survivor_set" "1" for L4D1 survivors

@LP-PADICIλ create a root folder copy the missions file folder for each campaign, the place the survivor set 1 section in each mission file, it's simple

another way is modify addonlist.txt located in <path-to-game>\left4dead2 and move the mod over every other mods

it should work if loaded before the campaigns (easiest way to achieve this is sub it first)

You are genuinely a godsend!

It took me some trial and error and tutorial hunting, but I figured out how to remake VPKs with the new survivor sets like you mentioned, and it works like a charm! Unfortunately, that only solves the issue for myself and not others, so it's a partial measure, but it's better than nothing!

Now, to try and figure out how to apply it to every campaign with one 'simple' plugin... I don't think people would appreciate me reuploading their entire campaigns with just changed survivors. :p

in the text files there's the option "survivor_set" "1", it's what forces L4D1 survivors, if absent or set to 2 the game will use L4D2 survivors

the mod's vpk file, you can extract it and than inside mission folder there's a text file, you can try by extracting this mod and you will find 14 text files (Valve's campaigns)

I've never tried any of that. I assume I can use GCFScape to extract/rummage through the files? I'm not sure which one would contain the survivor sets or how to change them, though.

For custom campaigns would be better to extract each of them and force the survivor set you prefer, it might work a 1 mod for everything but since I'm not sure of it and lazy, I've never tried it

Is there any chance you could have a version of this mod force L4D1 survivors on *all* campaigns, customs included? I'm trying to make a L4D1-themed collection with night versions of all the L4D2 maps, but they still use L4D2 survivors.

all I know is that what I modified doesn't touch the spawning rates at all
which makes me wonder my server with all 8 survivors how much changes the behaviour of the Director

Probably because l4d1 had alot more infected spawning in? im not sure

@Bane about the spawn rate of infected: that's really weird and I don't know what causes it
about the radios: unfortunately they are made to work only with L4D2 survivors in L4D2 campaigns

I'm actually quite sure now that somehow this mod makes infected spawn much faster. It's not a bad thing, but it's just if I play with l4d 2 characters and this one disabled, I can breeze through the Parish finale on Advanced and keep the bots alive. If I do the same with this one enabled I have to play on normal because specials continuously spawn and there are way more infected. Still, I like this one so much, the only issue I have is that the rescue radio in the finale doesn't have any sound same for the Parish chopper at the end you don't hear anything from them about get to the chopper, is there any way to fix this

Sorry was really angry last night, because as soon as I enable this it feels like there are triple the amount of zombies than without it on the Parish and they're harder to kill on single player, even on normal which doesn't make any sense

@Bane IDK it literally changes only wich survivor team the game must use in all of Valve's campaigns and enables all melee weapons, I didn't touch anything else
