@Stan2112 I really need one with shield and turrets. The Auger was doing great, until I used it to farm one of those floating Legacy treasure houses on the beginner barren planets. In the 5 minutes or less that I was grabbing loot, a drone came by and shredded the thing. It handles the drones very nice when I'm in it, but it can't defend itself when I'm gone. Plus, I'm learning where to farm, so materials aren't as much an issue.

@Migdalin Consider using the Aardwolf after the Meerkat since it doesn't requires any Bridges to spawn.

Upgraded to his from the Meercat. Wonder if I should have held out for one that also has warp drive? I still haven't figured out how to get all the materials for these things, especially the tons of matrices and bridges. Gold seems to be a major limiting factor.
