Appears to be working, have a good day sir.

Not really playing the game, but you could try. I think it should.

Will this work with 1.6 though? Can't go without my shepherds.
Foxtwo 20 Jun, 2024 @ 2:00pm
Oh I made a mistake, the modloader marks it as red, but it still works as intended. thanks :)
Vengyr  [author] 20 Jun, 2024 @ 12:15am
Does it *not* work in 1.5? It's a fairly simple tweak, so it should still work.
Foxtwo 19 Jun, 2024 @ 6:46pm
any chance we will get this updated? German shepherds need to be able to nuzzle
Vengyr  [author] 31 Oct, 2022 @ 4:32pm
I've changed it to Vanilla Animals Expanded. I don't see it requiring cats&dogs anywhere else.
thorman123456789 31 Oct, 2022 @ 3:52pm
ok it is still showing it requires the cats and dogs module instead of the new all in one mod. can you please fix that as well?
Vengyr  [author] 31 Oct, 2022 @ 2:34pm
And done. I've removed them from the predator list altogether, so they will behave like all the other dogs.
Vengyr  [author] 30 Oct, 2022 @ 11:25am
Yeah, it won't work. Will update.
thorman123456789 30 Oct, 2022 @ 10:11am
Well the problem is that the vanilla expanded team made a new mod combining all the modules and the cats and dogs module as well as all the other modules are 1.3 only. So I'm not sure if this mod is looking for just a German shepherd in any mod or is specifically looking for one in the cats and dogs module. If it's the first one I think it would work, because there's no changes to the animals in the new mod. But if it's the second then this mod will not function without an update unfortunately.

I think it should work? Not playing RimWorld right now, but it's a very simple tweak, unless 1.4 broke everything it should be fine. Let me know and I'll update to include the 1.4 version.
thorman123456789 29 Oct, 2022 @ 11:01pm
1.4?
Vengyr  [author] 17 Apr, 2022 @ 9:35am
Didn't change it, but I agree, it's dumb and maybe I'll tweak that too when I'll have some Rimworld time.
Space_Lettuce_OG 15 Apr, 2022 @ 2:46am
Did you change it so the German Shepard is omnivorous and not carnivorous?
All the other dogs are omnivorous except the German Shepard. Kinda dumb dumb mistake.
Vengyr  [author] 15 Jun, 2021 @ 11:52pm
Reduced their hunger rate to 0.45 (it was 0.85, which was ridiculous indeed, Great Dane has it at 0.4)
Vengyr  [author] 5 Jun, 2021 @ 1:50pm
Haven't noticed this. Might take a look and bring them in line with other dogs.
ELLIOTTCABLE on Discord 5 Jun, 2021 @ 12:37pm
Any chance of nerfing their hunger-rate, too? They're currently *more than a human* - more to the point, they're almost twice the hunger-rate of Deathclaws from Regrowth, most of the dinosaurs from Dinosauria, etc, etc, etc. It's absolutely ridiculously high. I didn't notice until I had a dozen German Shepherds in my colony, yyyyikes! :steamsad:

Thank you for this, I had thought of doing it if no-one else did but you filled the need in the community perfectly. Adding to my modpack.
DroZzhat 18 May, 2021 @ 10:07am
Can't believe I overlooked this for two months. Finally, my german shepherds (da best breed) will be less of little morons. Thanks! No more having to lock the damn things in the house...

Im giving 4,000 points just for that thumbnail as well
Vengyr  [author] 26 Mar, 2021 @ 7:41am
Glad my care-free thumbnail approach made someone happy.
Brother of the Tutorial Guy 24 Mar, 2021 @ 6:40pm
I'm giving this a 4,000 point award just because of the thumbnail.
Cane McKeyton 23 Mar, 2021 @ 7:18pm
Thank you! This always bugged me about the VAE German Shepherd.
Vengyr  [author] 20 Mar, 2021 @ 4:55am
I suppose with wolfhounds it makes more sense, they're more "wild". Might still tweak it.
SalmonToastie 20 Mar, 2021 @ 3:59am
Same with the wolfhounds, they would just fuck off and hunt all the large animals on the map and nearly/always die.
