@VladiZarth Yes, you can do this in creative (or single-player I believe) using the 'replaceblocks' console command. After you change the blocks on a spawned ship you can save it as a new blueprint to spawn on your game.

is there a way so i can change all the steel into plastic / carbon?

Thanks for the helpful response, Garaman. I've noticed the benefits of having a base in space with a jetpack too! :-) Thanks again for a great BP!

The gravity generators are frustratingly limited in this game. You get a 75m radius bubble around each generator, and overlapping fields are additive. Jrandall did a lot of work positioning those 4 grav gens to provide complete coverage of the ship with minimal overlap, but there was only so much he could do. Then everyone added grav gens to their modules which can make the overlap even worse.

If you're playing solo you could set up a field of motion sensors and use signal logic to link them to specific generators so you only activate one at a time depending on which quarter of the ship you're in. But it would take some doing, and would likely be buggy.

I just gave up and fly around it. Faster to traverse the ship with your jetpack anyway.

The only fly in the ointment is that there are problems with overlapping gravity fields that affect the modules - even with all their gravity generators disabled. I've made sure I have no ships with gravity generators running near it, but I cannot ascend the stairs at the front of a module because gravity has been doubled between the 4 gravity generators on the Helios carrier. I tried turning off Helos' gravity and turning on the modules' gravity and the problem goes away - altho then there are areas with no gravity at all of course. I haven't tried things on the 4 bay version of the Helios but I wonder if the gaps between modules had anything to do with it. Not exactly a huge deal but annoying to have to use my jetpack to go up any stairs. And there are places where, if I turn off my jetpack when I'm 1 block above the floor I fall and break my leg. :-) (Guess I could replace stairs with elevators...)

I love your adaptation of jrandall's ship - THANK YOU!!!

I'm in RE and I've got a Three Sea Shells Production triple on one side of it and a Club, Garden, and an SM20 Cargo Rack RE on the other side. So far I'm delighted!

@Invictus_66: The Helios is primarily a space carrier capable of carrying not only Helios modules in the bay slots but also any number of CVs docked to the top deck and SVs/HVs docked in the hangar bay. It does have spacing for more lift thrusters if you want to take it to planet, but at some point you may end up carrying too much weight to make it off planet fully loaded.

There is a Display that says with upgrades it can carry modules ect... Is that only for planets? Looking for a mobile base to carry other SVs and CVs. Thx

@hot.slot I don't think jrandall is updating the original, and I have no current plans to update this one. I believe I did check that it's still within CPU in 1.7, but I didn't see the loss of shield capacity as a major issue given that this is not intended to be in conflict areas. There is also a lot of space in the engineering bays to mount shield boosters if you desire.

Great work even if its a little what older. Btw. ... are there plans to modernize it to RE 1.7?

Top. Thank you Garaman. What a pitty they are not working anymore
Garaman  [author] 15 Aug, 2021 @ 9:20am
@Grollwerk CV solar panels and capacitors were removed from Reforged Galaxy / Eden in the last update because they were causing ships to get partially deleted on servers. Vermillion added these "mobile solar panels" that use the same model, but instead just reduce power usage. You can read the details about the change here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/workshop/filedetails/discussion/2550354956/3057366778465573862/

Seem Solar panels are not working on this version. LEDs on solar panels always gray. No charge in Statistics (0,00). I did not even find Solar Capacitors in the engine room, maybe the reason. I can not add capacitors on my own (not for CV)

Thank you for the update.
I did not even realize RE had an update until i looked into the workshop just now - and this ship already has the updated solar.
