Anyone that's interested, fixing the performance hit is trivial. Go in to the mod folder, delete all instances of CompOversizedWeapon.dll, then, open up 1.4/Defs/Defs_Apparel.xml

Delete the line "<li Class="CompOversizedWeapon.CompProperties_OversizedWeapon">
</li>"

There's only one.

Also make sure you're loading the newer oversized weapons mod. And it'll work fine without the hit.

ye can confirm that using performance analyzer the compoversized weapon has a pretty noticable tps impact really sad this is my favorite medieval armor set

Hello, I noticed you're using old dll for CompOversizedWeapon. That might be an issue for those who experienced TPS drop in their game, I hope you switch to the latest version of CompOversizedWeapon by adding dependancy to related mod (Enable Oversized Weapons) or replacing the current one to newer version of dll

Aesthetically I love this little mod and have used it for quite awhile, the problem however is it doesn't really integrate into the game well. You never see the weapon pop up on anything except normal raiders as more primitive tech factions never spawn with the weapons. Also seeing all the TPS issues means its finally getting retired.

I can confirm that I am also experiencing the issue with this mod eating up TPS. I haven't even started researching it at all nor do I have any instances of any pawns using the items from this mod.

This is simply beyond my understanding! I’ve been rebuilding my mod list for 1.4 + new DLC while keeping an eye on any mods that can cause performance issues. And at some point, after adding equipment section to my mod list noticed a massive drop in TPS on a test save. On third speed TPS dropped from smooth 800-900 to 500-600 with occasional drops to 400. This was unexpected to say the least. After going through all equipment mods one by one THIS was the culprit. To not be biased I tried around 10 times to see if the result will be consistent and yes, it is! Without this mod game runs fine, but as soon as it’s back to my mod list, I see massive drops in TPS. Now I wonder HOW a simple armor + 1 weapon mod can cause performance issues?

I mean it's balanced around being tribal power armor.
You get power armor protection at the cost of it being expensive.

gread mod, great work and great looking set. BUUUUUUUUUUUT it is too expensive.
literally it's easier to forge/get hitech armour than this steam punk style set.

plz consider to add some tiers like steel, plasteel and exclusive gold one.

Yeah I have been playing with it for ages and the last 3 5+ year colonies I have noticed changing the load order or from industrial to medieval tech does not seem to affect it spawning on the Vanilla Medieval faction. I still see pirates, spacers and rarely imperials with the armor and weapons so it is propagating among them. There seems to be a hard code to not allow for outside mod items to spawn inside that faction. Rarely I do see someone who has moved into their faction from ancient warriors or other factions show up with spacer gear including this.

As for cost in relation to raid I am also currently on a play through using Vanilla Trading and Gold price crashed to something absurd like -62% so raiders occasionally show up with gold mortars or other odd equipment. Plasteel is absurdly expensive so industrial equipment is more common. The Vanilla Medieval faction however only rarely has a standard musket or flintlock pistol rather than any of the mechanized equipment.

Vanilla expanded series is chock full of holes and issues that there populairty and great descriptions make seem nonexistant. Not all of them, but several, several i can think of off top my head.

As for spawning that may just be rng, not sure but assumeing enemies use this?? I have noticed with alot of armour mods and/or material adding mods that armours seem to have there random gen on enemies derp out just a little. I used "rimmsqol" (a mod) to cut the gold cost substantialy

I have been trying to get this to work with Medieval Vanilla expanded and similar mods for ages. Am I goofing up the load order? I have it set to Medieval tech but pawns never seem to spawn with the gear unless they are industrial or space tier. So occasionally pirates have the gear. The Medieval factions raid budget balloons late game with 100+ pawns with plate armor and a few bows and I would like to see more fancy stuff like this to pose both a threat and to reduce the number of raiders to keep the game running smoothly.

I would like to suggest a version of this mod that is dependent on "Expanded Materials - Metals" with 2 variations of this armor, one using iron and bronze(medieval) and one using steel and bronze(industrial), this would provide a much more cost effective way to make the armor

Any possibility that the gold cost be reworked? 150 gold is extremely expensive and that's just for the chest. The gun + chest + helmet = 260 units of gold. I can't imagine crafting a full set and using a soldier to get the amount of wealth back in a raid.

One idea I give you is to make 2 sets. This that cost gold transform it in a prestige set and make a normal set that just costs steel, cloth and components. I want to use this mod but that is too expensive to field.

Not sure if intentional or not, but crafting cost of these items is pretty high, since crafting cost of gold and silver is multiplied by 10 in the base game, so armor costs 150 gold.

Nope, more likes late Late Modern like the 19th century. Muskets, mechanized weaponry and cuirasses like this equipment appears are not medieval at all.

Knowing that : the musket itself was used for the first time in 1521, that Middle Ages end somewhat in 1453, and that Renaissance is a subperiod of the Modern Times and not of the Middle Ages nor its own. Middle ages are not the only period to exist in History.

Furthermore, this equipment is more likely steampunk-based, which is really cool! Love the modder's work, it really satisfies my love of Modern Times and steampunk.
