this tends to happen if you have 10-18 mods enabled. HOWEVER for some reason merciless tends to fix it.
chapter 2 map 2: under the lockers in the upgrade station room (there are invisible walls preventing you from grabbing it)
chapter 3 map 2 behind the fence (it's a wall how are you supposed to grab it)
(please fix)
i haven't played Alyx for quite some time but i recall mods not working if you didn't start a new game. if you start a new game with the mod enabled, you can skip to starting with Chapter 2, as there are no new red resin pods before the game introduces them, and no new pods after the game's final upgrade station.
It takes a lot of time and attention to get to the 2 Resin. Namely over the railing, down the stairs and between the narrow pipe passages. The same Path then back.
now we have some things here and there, but only thing i don't understand
is what they have with ''Combine Soldiers, Headcrabs, Zombies, Antlions,'' to do,
or even ''jeff'' why?
The fact that this mod adds new resin without causing a natural shortage very much makes the game easier, but you'll have to earn it at the cost of heavy exploration. You can also max upgrades before the game ends, which makes end-game less distracting when you don't need to scavenge anymore.
I'd like to hear from anyone who maxed upgrades which chapter they accomplished it in, because my best estimate is that it can happen in chapter 6.
Thank you very much, glad to hear you're having fun.

I can tell you one thing, there is actually a total of 142 resin pods in the mod, across 16 maps, comes to an average of 8.875 per level. So if you've found 5-7 and aren't really finding more, then it's probably a good idea to move on.
A little potential spoiler you may notice I had a tendency to not put resin pods in areas with heavily-scripted combat sequences, as the combat itself is too distracting for exploration.
If you want the actual totals for a 100% attempt I can private message a screenshot of them and let you go for it, it may be rather tough but if you feel like you're up for the task I'll share it. You have to accept the friend request however.
Also keep in mind that you're not supposed to find these add-on resin pods easily; such as you open a container, you find a resin pod, that's how Valve wanted it to be, mine are all much more hidden than that. I made it very easy in the beginning chapters, then it gets more challenging, all the way up to unforgivable in the later chapters.
This mod idea is kind of similar to the lambda caches in Half-Life 2, where if you're exploring more of the level than the average player, you'll likely be rewarded with a little extra buff.
The room with the final fabrication station in Chapter 10 is where the mod ends, where Russell says "you probably won't get a chance to use one of these again."

so green would = easy. yellow = medium. red = hard
it would be cool finding a red one and being surprised that you found a super-hidden one
