@99justin - read a bit. This is a very old mod and was made before thrusters could damage stuff. Unless thruster damage is turned off, thi ship WILL kill itself.
Quick Tinker 29 Mar, 2015 @ 7:41am
make a vertion where it doesn't destroy itself please.

Until there is a game mechanic that can do a catapult i think the best launch tubes for now would be just triangular tube a little bigger than the viper and you fly out uder your own power. It already accelerates so fast.
UberSeraph 21 Jul, 2014 @ 10:03am
well it's built to a roughly accurate scale 1.2km long and 500m wide. Your Vipers fit, maybe not enough room for a full complement but well worth it. Can't figure out how to make launch tubes..

@UberSeraph Go for it! Please make use of them. Your Battlestar must be huge if it is built to the same scale as these vipers...

Hello Lodebeard! Great work on the Vipers. Shame that the landing gear stuggles with the G-forces that a viper can pull but lets hope that improves with the game.

I am currently building the old Nova Class Galactica from the 70's and would love to include your Vipers in it. Is that ok? If you agree then I will of course tell the world of your great work in the description when I post it on the workshop :)

ps. I have modified them to work with thruster damage.

challenge accepted. but good work none the less!

@JaHck23 Thruster damage is turned off by default when you download the world, so it should work. Is the ship not working for you?

Revising it so the ship could function with thruster damage turned on is impossible because of the design
JaHck23 16 Apr, 2014 @ 12:42am
hello, this is a great work, but can you machine again revise, because of the thruster damage?

@Lodebeard I live in Moscow. This is beautiful city. But only then you live here 1 year. I think all cities beautiful but if you live there many years you don't surprised by this city.

@[LZOMB] Pikachu I would love to see Russia someday, especially St. Petersburg and Moscow and Volgograd. But with our governments at odds the way they are now I would not go. Maybe someday when everyone calms down ;)

@Lodebeard Hah... Haha... Don't learn Russian this is hard language... But if you go in Russia ... ^_^
RKR_Lodebeard  [author] 27 Mar, 2014 @ 3:04pm
Ha ha you have misunderstood. I said your English is much better than my Russian, meaning that you should not apologize for your poor English because I do not speak Russian at all!
Toska 27 Mar, 2014 @ 5:12am
@Lodebeard Если так, то могу только похвалить вашу работу. Все сделано очень качественно.
ПЬЯНЫЙ СКОПЕЦ 27 Mar, 2014 @ 2:26am
@Lodebeard You know Russian?! Lol... You first man who know Russian and I know him...
RKR_Lodebeard  [author] 26 Mar, 2014 @ 7:50pm
@[LZOMB] Pikachu Haha your English is much better than my Russian! And thank you for your very generous words :)

nice vipers good work on them verry close to the real deal.
CombiVex 22 Mar, 2014 @ 7:48pm
Even though they are out of scale you have done an amazing job on these ships. Keep up the good work!
RKR_Lodebeard  [author] 21 Mar, 2014 @ 7:59pm
@evanbaxter Your work is very nice. Bravo!
I chose a larger than life scale to reduce the 'Lego' effect. You have done quite well at minimizing the Lego effect even though your scale is smaller.
RKR_Lodebeard  [author] 21 Mar, 2014 @ 7:49pm
Today's hotfix added an option to turn off thruster damage. Thruster damage is now turned off by default in this world, and the ship once again functions.
RKR_Lodebeard  [author] 20 Mar, 2014 @ 6:16pm
@Jahkx Thanks dude. Maybe a Raptor next :)
Jet Junkie 20 Mar, 2014 @ 3:30pm
I fucking love you, make raiders and raptors

RKR_Lodebeard  [author] 20 Mar, 2014 @ 1:02pm
have you put it on the workshop? I'd love to check it out.
EvanBaxter 20 Mar, 2014 @ 12:47pm
I already made it, lol)
RKR_Lodebeard  [author] 20 Mar, 2014 @ 12:22pm
As of the latest update, thrusters now can deal damage to blocks. This build has several internal thrusters, so it is likely when the new update happens this ship will no longer be usable until I remove the internal thrusters. I will try to get this fixed as soon as I can. In the meantime, feel free to download it and rip out the 4 internal thrusters yourself if you have a problem.

@evanbaxter52

You're right, it is longer than the 8.4 meters listed as the length of a MK.II Viper on the Battlestar Wiki. In my original version the nose was too short in comparison to the rest of the body, and when I was in the process of lengthening the nose I decided to try adding landing gear, which meant shifting the power plant aftward and lengthening the nose even further. I think now, even though it is a bit larger than the real thing, that it looks proportional. If you would like a copy of my original shorter version let me know and I can pm you the file. Also, all the other Vipers out there are WAY smaller than 28 feet long. I think this is the closest to actual size out there right now. If you make one that is more to scale let me know I'd love to see it :)
EvanBaxter 20 Mar, 2014 @ 3:29am
it's too big....
RKR_Lodebeard  [author] 19 Mar, 2014 @ 10:15pm
@Tostito

I'm glad you like it!

If it's drawing 90% then there must have been another change to the game. All my tests were drawing 80% at full forward. I'll have to try it out again.

No raptor in the works yet, although the thought is rattling around in my head for sure. Until we have some heavy ordnance to fling around though I'm not too keen on that project. I have also thought of making a battlestar to scale with it, but there are already loads of cool basttlestars out there on a smaller scale, and it would be a life-swallowing project to build one to the same scale as this Viper.
Daegan Jukes 19 Mar, 2014 @ 9:25pm
well built also. 90 percent power on full forward.
Daegan Jukes 19 Mar, 2014 @ 9:22pm
you got a raptor in the works?
Daegan Jukes 19 Mar, 2014 @ 9:22pm
nice. this one has depth.
HULK_ANGRY 19 Mar, 2014 @ 7:51pm
So rad :D

They see me rollin. . .
CLOACA BLAST 18 Mar, 2014 @ 12:05am

This thing is f****** gorgeous.
