I am currently building the old Nova Class Galactica from the 70's and would love to include your Vipers in it. Is that ok? If you agree then I will of course tell the world of your great work in the description when I post it on the workshop :)
ps. I have modified them to work with thruster damage.
Revising it so the ship could function with thruster damage turned on is impossible because of the design
Thanks! It makes me happy to know you guys are enjoying these.
I chose a larger than life scale to reduce the 'Lego' effect. You have done quite well at minimizing the Lego effect even though your scale is smaller.
You're right, it is longer than the 8.4 meters listed as the length of a MK.II Viper on the Battlestar Wiki. In my original version the nose was too short in comparison to the rest of the body, and when I was in the process of lengthening the nose I decided to try adding landing gear, which meant shifting the power plant aftward and lengthening the nose even further. I think now, even though it is a bit larger than the real thing, that it looks proportional. If you would like a copy of my original shorter version let me know and I can pm you the file. Also, all the other Vipers out there are WAY smaller than 28 feet long. I think this is the closest to actual size out there right now. If you make one that is more to scale let me know I'd love to see it :)
I'm glad you like it!
If it's drawing 90% then there must have been another change to the game. All my tests were drawing 80% at full forward. I'll have to try it out again.
No raptor in the works yet, although the thought is rattling around in my head for sure. Until we have some heavy ordnance to fling around though I'm not too keen on that project. I have also thought of making a battlestar to scale with it, but there are already loads of cool basttlestars out there on a smaller scale, and it would be a life-swallowing project to build one to the same scale as this Viper.
They see me rollin. . .
This thing is f****** gorgeous.
