I have not tested it on a mid-save campaign actually. What is interesting is that in the data tables, all it does is change the box for "hidden settlements" for skaven alone. It's odd it would have that effect but I can only assume some aspect of "discovering" settlements gets tied into other code strings later in campaigns.
I need to go through and do a last scan of the mods on which I'm author and see what can be fixed or what new bugs the last patch did.
Question though, can i add this mid game or will i need to start a new one?
It's their choice like, which I respect but I totally agree with your point here.
Delete every table EXCEPT campaign_features_tables.
Ultimately it is a shame as like you say about Legend, fighting them isn't an issue in battles(they're actually fun as they tend to come in waves with their trash morale), just their campaign mechanics lead to them snow balling, so many times get to end of campaign and ya looking at World War Warhammer: Skaventide edition almost every campaign.
Kudos to your work here, I wouldn't even say this "nerfs" them either more just balances them with rest of the game hahaha
And you know it, it was a tough call between Morn, Garak or Ben, but end of the day Sisko is my spirit animal :D
Let me know what you think of it and if you find any errors or glitches. Also, a man of culture with the Sisko profile pic!
Having great time playing with Thorek. Confed Azul, got their boss home base, just built gyro stand for the boys and their heli's, then what do you know, two doom stacks of eshin show up and roll it, cool. Settlement back to lvl 1, one take long at all as dwarves to build it all back up...so...regret disabling incremental saves. Best part is, playing iwth OvN so they walked through, the orcs in east, DE's(malus), any lizardmen may of still been around, rolled the TK vasals I'd made who had colonised those two nagash buildings, AND the chaos dwarves from OvN there who I was having an awesome dawi-war with, so yeah, fuck skaven, fuck their bullshit campaign mechanics and fuck fact CA still hasn't figured out they at least need massive nerfs vs other AI.
lol try this out, doubt save my campaign at this point though.
The biggest parts of the mod that nerf Skaven are no more hidden settlements and no stalk stance except Eshin. So if you are curious about if it works with SFO you could do a test run.
I don't know all the changes SFO makes with default stances or undercities---can't speak for SFO since it's such a comprehensive overhaul it is likely to have tables that conflict.
I tested two of the primary components of the mod: 1. Skaven settlements are visible once in range: CONFIRMED STILL WORKS
and 2. Stalk stance only retained by Clan Eshin. default stance for other clans is same as all other WH factions: CONFIRMED STILL WORKS.
So far, it works, and doesn't crash. I will update but after running a test I don't see the same urgency as before
That's simply never been the case for me, I even isolated out mods that might have given them a boost (besides construction speed which applies to everyone.) Maybe a given faction disappears but not overall. With the growth nerf, it also means Tomb Kings are even less of an obstacle when Mors comes from East and Eshin from South. And now Vampirates models/unit got nerfed.
I haven't played through campaign to see full outcome but honestly? I don't care if Skaven die out. They're fun to play AS but I find the other factions more interesting (aside from Beastmen and WoC) to fight or engage in diplomacy with. You're entitled to your experiences and your opinion, though. Thank you for feedback.
Thank you for that image, I'll try it out as my thumbnail and provide author credit in the description text! (just give me a bit to implement the change.)
