I imagine it would be quite simple to add coal hoppers. Its based on the Scania AXL concept which is a dumper truck after all.

could you make it were it lines it self up with the crate like you did the drone

I like the simplicity and rugged look of this however I can't help but feel an optional trailer to double haul capacity would be an interesting concept. Not trying to get you to do anything except consider it! :) Regardless of what you decide to do I think I will give this truck lots of use!

I've updated the front bumper to be on a separate mesh which makes it much more tolerant of frontal collisions.

I think @karnivool is right, that its something to do with the mass. It's a very light vehicle with a lot of power so I think it is quite sensitive to damage. The main micro-controller is near the front and seems to take quite a blow which causes the run-away. I might be able to move it but I suspect something else (like the engine) would just get destroyed instead.

I've lost control of it also, after hitting a bump. I couldn't do anything but watch it going into the forest, smashing all the trees in the way and then jumping into the water :) Overall it is nice, but you have to drive it slower than it wants to go.

Verrryy cool!

Soooooo cooooooolllll

It's a mass thing. I noticed with the last challenge my 500 mass car could bounce off terrain and be fine. My 600 mass car would explode instantly

If you're spawning it in the train terminal you need to back up and drive out the other door (without the posts).

It does seems a little sensitive to damage and I can't figure out why.
IcedLatte 4 Feb, 2021 @ 5:05am
Is there a specific way to drive it out of the terminal?
I tried slowly pushing it but then it just spontaneously blew up and caught fire.

@ntsfmagellan I haven't looked at modular engines recently. I'm not sure if they'd give much benefit here as it already has loads of power and efficiency

Thanks for the feedback!

You can load all the logs from the MrNJersey challenge, just go slightly unaligned to the ones in the pillars so that the crane doesn't hit them.

I'll look into the damage issue, there's no reason it should be so sensitive. Ground clearance is quite good except for the front bumper, but that shouldn't explode lol
SleepyFox 3 Feb, 2021 @ 10:55pm
Easy to drive, once out of the train bay, lol. Doesn't like to slowly inch forwards or backwards for maneuvering to get logs.

Loading process was quick and easy. Cargo bay is more than enough to contain the logs. Cannot seem to load the logs that were placed inside the pillars. Unloading was easy too.

Vehicle is fast. While driving down the road I hit a geometry angle in the road and the impact caused the engine to explode. Lost all control of the vehicle after that as it plowed into the trees. I'm guessing the low ride height is to blame for this. Does seem pretty easy to damage the vehicle.

When modular engines come out, will you make an engine purpose built?
FredMeisterParry 3 Feb, 2021 @ 2:18pm
Very helpful vehicle
