(Sigh) time to head to the core again. lol
Niice to see capital ships making the rounds nowadays.
Thanks.
I don't think it's possible to have a turret bigger than 5.0, and if it is possible it may end up being a coaxial gun.
Turrets get their damage and range boosted with each increase in slots used. There's a wiki article on guns if you're interested. https://avorion.gamepedia.com/Weapons
Seems I'll have to experiment with those transform-tools...
Turret-bases I used already, but couldn't really increase turret-size with them... Likely because I'm still in the 'outer rim', I guess.
Would it be possible to make a size-10 turret at a turret-factory in the core?
And what influence does the turret-size have in it's stats- is it like some multiplier or rather a sort of grouping for higher techs?
Turrets get bigger the closer you are to the core & also with difficulty, and scale up at increments of 0.5 (ex: 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 all the way up to 5.0). Turret bases allow you to design turrets as big as 10.0, although none actually go up to that size.
Don't yet know what a 'framework' in this game is, though.
( and also don't know how to get turrets bigger than the initial tiny size... :/ )
For ship wide changes in material there is the scaling ('Modify Entire Ship') tool, in the rectangle of tools, third row second column.
For transforming a selection of blocks, there is the 'Transform All Selected Blocks' tool, open up the block selection menu (default is Space), and it is the third button under the 'Tools' category.
Generally the idea for block overlap is that you make the stacked corner 1 cube, transform it into framework, then saving it as a template. My guess for the higher stacked cubes (8+) there would be some XML editing involved, probably messing with the block coords.
As for the transforming-tool: Is it possible to replace materials ( iron/titanium/etc. ) with it? ( didn't work for me so far... )
I noticed that larger blocks can partially overlap, but there are limits to that...
Also, if you guys are having problems with turret designs not showing, try applying the ship design a second time.
Btw., what's that about "stacked blocks"?
