This is cool, especially since I am big into gems in real life.

Why don't you make a mod that adjust the value of self-filled gems? They have the same value as empty soul gems and that's a complete nonsense.

Here's an idea: a mod where you can use Magicka to fill a soul gem.

Great mod! Is it possible to design a chest that can either completely empty all the different types of gems off of your character or allows you to put only specific gems in storage? Yet will allow you to completely empty the contents or take only what you want to take out? Is this container is possible to make, please place it near the Breezehome or next to the wall behind the Breezehome. Please and thanks.

be great if you can go from petty to grand soul gem in this mod.

Make sure you let it install in the skyrim loader. Try to put it as low in the load order as possible if you already did that.

Its not loading for me.

I have a very long memory. :D I keep an eye on potential and those who can grasp the vision I lend to them. Ill keep watch on this one as I am keeping watch on others. I look forward to seeing where you take this mod from here on.

Like you said, a lot of work. I have another project that I need to finish. I've even halted the development of several other mods that I would rather be working on to finish this one. What you're suggesting I do would require me to step back from that project, and spend a minimum of a 3 weeks to a month working on this.

You've done the hard part for me, which is figuring out exactly what needs to happen, but I won't be able to do make it happen for several months, at which time, you'll probably have forgotten we ever had this exchange.

You've got the idea. You should make it into a mod.

for example, gemsstones are not forged in a furnace they are cut with a cutting tool. its the jeweler that makes them flawed or flawless by the way they cut the gem. Like wise soul gems are still gems. they too should be cut in a like mannor. instead of forging them you need a cutting table. Instead of just a cutting table you need gemstone mines and gemstone nodes through out skyrim. with that in mind, you need to have rough cut stones of all types from these various mines. With these mines you need miners and foremen. sure its a lot of work for you as a modder to do. But these ideas will put your mod over the top.

How?
kaidedshard 8 Apr, 2014 @ 2:26pm
makes it more immersive
Ferret287  [author] 8 Apr, 2014 @ 2:20pm
How does that make any sense? Seriously, I'm having a hard time figuring it out.
kaidedshard 8 Apr, 2014 @ 2:18pm
this would be a nice mod if it had its own custom crafting table
Ferret287  [author] 30 Mar, 2014 @ 12:59pm
To make flawless gems, you need two of the flawed gems. For example, if you wanted to make a flawless diamond, you would need two regular diamonds. For soul gems, if you wanted to make a greater soul gem, you would need two common soul gems. The soul gems must be empty, or they won't work.

Also, you have to be at a smelter, not a smithing station.

What items are required to smelt jems and soul gems?
Ferret287  [author] 27 Mar, 2014 @ 10:47am
Guess what, guys! We made it to our 666th subscriber!
Captain Fool 25 Mar, 2014 @ 3:03pm
lol, Cobra I assure you this mod is quite lore friendly as it does not clash with any lore that was written down. In-fact it even supports the lore as it is said in the elderscrolls that soul gems are not natural and were created by sorcerers of the old ages, the fact this mod allows them to be crafted makes it more lore friendly than the vanilla skyrim.
Ferret287  [author] 21 Mar, 2014 @ 7:36pm
Plus, the majority of subscribers are just buying the gems at general goods stores.
Ferret287  [author] 21 Mar, 2014 @ 7:35pm
This mod makes it easier to get flawless gems. The entire point of this mod is for lazy people like myself.
TheUnpoeticSkald 21 Mar, 2014 @ 7:20pm
In Skyim you can mine up Flawless gems!
Ferret287  [author] 21 Mar, 2014 @ 7:19pm
Mane? No you mine them up. Then you refine them by cutting the stones and treating them with heat. Synthetic dimonds are made by combining the raw materials then smelting them until flawless.
TheUnpoeticSkald 21 Mar, 2014 @ 6:53pm
This is dumb. I can't believe this has more than 500 subscribers! I'm pretty you don't smith gems you mane them up! Not lore friendly and stupid
FleshRiot 14 Mar, 2014 @ 5:08pm
Awesome needed this for some modded armor
magickman93 10 Mar, 2014 @ 6:06am
Very nice mod...thanks!
