The mod is working perfectly (I just tested it), it makes them happy in the sense of listening to music (interacting with them) but there are other factors the player should consider: removing debris, putting plants from the same family etc etc... This one mod will only make you happy in the sense of interaction the other things you as players should fix.

Could you make a version of the phonograph that looks like the divining rod radio or like how it looks in the reap what you sow ainimated trailer when wes truns it on? I think something like that would really immerse the mod into the game like it was an added feature.
