Yep, all of these maps are so called "companion cube maps", like the one in Portal. In Portal (and Portal 2), you could get killed or lose the cube, but you would just use the last autosave. With the autosave feature missing in Portal 2 Puzzle Maker, the best you can do is use Quicksave and Quickload. They are also adventures, unlike the very short and by now unchallenging levels in Portal. If you'd like a challenge therefore, play Cube Adventures and not lesser maps. They are well-designed and a lot of fun.

I've spent very much time on all of these maps. I have two more even bigger adventures almost finished, but to be honest I gave up on the Portal 2 community when it consistently went for the lame and poorly designed maps. If you'd like me to spend more time, share the maps so that numbers rise and I feel some appreciation.

Aaand you should reupload the orange gel screenshot, it looks like an outdated version :)

Agree with Duglius's comment. I think he means the faith plate room. You can get stuck there being forced to destroy the cube, which annoys. I also got mine ended up in the middle of the speel gel hallway, since there is no forced respawn and I could not reach it anymore, I could not complete the test.

Duglius: which room frustrated you, and which step made you lose your cube or die?

Personally, I'm finding this too frustrating. You get one chance at some of the steps and have to start over if you don't get those particular steps perfect. Maybe others like that kind of challenge, not me so much :-)

Hum... I didn't say I won't try again ;)
But I am a bit busy (homework for High School, yoohoo =w=)
I will tell you what I think of your test when I complete it =)

Actually, that screenshot shows the solution for that chamber and not a disintegrating cube. Look closely! ;) Yes, the whole idea of this series is to bring your cube intact from the start to the finish in each adventure! The first time you lost a cube in the singleplayer campaign, did you quit the campaign and never play it again? ;)

We can't continue if we bring the cube where you took your screenshot which shows the desintegration of the cube? I brang it there, but I didn't find any way to save it, so I quit xD

Thanks for playing!! :) Sure, I can move it up a step. About the ending: the light bridge should just blink enough to make all the turrets speak in choir when you go up with the lift. So it's just a programmed sound effect you could say ;)

just solved. Is hard that you losing the cube makes you just kill yourself.
I did not, but...

Also, something DID happened: the place where you pick the cube. If you pick it on the machine (as I did) the cube get stuck and you can't solve it. Is a bug of the system, not yours, but then you could avoid this by putting the machine that delivers the cube just a litle bit higger.

In the end the turrents wall did not opened. That is normal? I was tremelling for a challenge.

It felt nice. Try one of mine, if you wish. I would like if you did and comment.
Anyway. These are the reports.

XP users please confirm this map works after the last Steam update! My XP PC didn't like it one bit when I wanted to play it... maybe I was too quick after upload but :)

And again the wrong screenshot, Valve... This one deserves some nice ingame screenshots anyway though!
