LogMan6777 14 Sep, 2023 @ 5:49pm
Is there an elevated version of these tracks available?
Phantom Xiang 14 Jun, 2023 @ 8:58pm
These tracks are already included in the vanilla game now.

As a follow up, I've discovered exactly what the problem was, thanks to Akuras. No, you don't need a station building and you can connect a path to naked station tracks. You just have to do it in a very specific way: Use an elevated path at ground level. Put one end under the centre of the tracks, the other end a little ways away. The start will jump up to the middle of the tracks, the end will "anchor" the tracks to the ground. THAT is a path pedestrians can take. Connect it up to an existing path and move the ends as needed, and you'll have a working station!

@clus It's okay! I've discovered something in my experiments that might help. It *appears* that trains cannot spawn from naked station tracks at all, but they *CAN* use them as stopping points on a route. If there is an actual station building connected to the route somewhere - even if it is not part of the route - it can act like a MOM depot and spawn the trains, which will go and assume their routes.

I think the problem is that you NEED a station building because it comes with the invisible pedestrian paths and road linkages necessary to function as a spawn point for the trains.Your vanilla station tracks are awesome and very useful, but I think the game mechanics limit their use to stations, not spawn points. If you "teach" the game to spawn the trains from a nearby station building, though, they work great!

Thank you very very much for responding! I hope that my information is useful to you!

Hey ... tbh I don't know what's going on there ... :/ I am no modder, therefore I have no clue how these thinks work/should work in game and what could cause such pathfinding errors. I simply can create models, which then can be used in game ... the "magic" arround that is provided by the modders/coders. ;)
Pathfinding could always be an issue in cities ... but it seems, as if you've already tried different layouts and did your issue - finding - routine or whatever I can call that. ;)
The only thing I can add is, that you try the same with the vanilla station track ... other than that, there are currently no more ideas floating arround in my mind. :/ sry ...

I've come up with a weird bug (?) with the vanilla station tracks. On some of my lines, just having the naked station track at the end... no road, path, any other connection... is enough to spawn and run trains. On a couple of other lines, the trains will not spawn unless an actual station building is connected.

I've tried a number of things: Relaying the track on those lines, checking the terminus station tracks by linking them to other lines (they work fine), replacing the terminus station anyway. I even tried putting two naked station tracks near one another on those line, checking for too-close nodes or overlapping tracks. The Metro line tool will link the stations just fine, but every time a train tries to spawn, it hits some kind of a path error and never appears. And just on those two lines; the others work perfectly.

Can you give any insight as to why the spawning may be failing on some lines but not others, when all other conditions *seem* identical?

You can raise them with the MoveIt mod.
@DSBSubhrajyoti
I´ve created one way tracks as well, but didnt upload them so far. I might add them within the next days.
sonsec 17 Feb, 2022 @ 5:14am
How do you elevate the tracks ?
viggo 2 Dec, 2021 @ 8:47am
I cant place the tracks high up, only on the ground
BaidDSB 15 Oct, 2021 @ 7:26am
Hi. i was wondering if there's any such version with just one track? like the one direction train track but for metro?
clus  [author] 27 Aug, 2021 @ 7:08am
NP ;) You could use the quad tracks by rcost as an alternative. Link in the description above.
Kizuato 27 Aug, 2021 @ 6:12am
okay mate, thanks for replying it :D
clus  [author] 27 Aug, 2021 @ 4:44am
@all There are no connections (rails and wires) between two segments, because these are "station tracks". Every segment creates a "junction" - node instead of a middel node (as it would be the case with "normal" tracks) when you build/create more than one segment in a row. Thats how station tracks "work" in this game. All that could be changed, done differently etc. of course, but that also would create other "issues", plus I just wanted them the way they are now. ;)
Kizuato 26 Aug, 2021 @ 8:58pm
hello friends.. i have same problem like lixieiro guy said.. junction doesnt have tracks.. yes i can make only one segment and use move it but.. how do i connect the tracks to the station?
ollimetal 1 Aug, 2021 @ 10:57am
Plop only one segment of station track and make it more long whit move it? Now you have 2 segments and too long

Why the junctions does not have tracks? http://i.prntscr.com/MZJsA7w6SkywsBfLgoDODQ.png
chansheunglong 2 Jul, 2021 @ 11:39am
@im359 @clus thanks for the solution!
im359 20 Jun, 2021 @ 5:49am
ok... so turns out I need to use FIndit to find the elevated version. Thanks.
clus  [author] 19 Jun, 2021 @ 12:37pm
The elevated versions can be raised via move it. Usually a network consists of 5 "elevations": base/elevated/bridge/slope/tunnel ... station tracks on the other hand only have one elevation. The "elevated" versions, seen on the pics, work as "elevated", the ground versions work as "base". Hence you have to pick the correct one, you can't change/force anything out of them via fine road tools.
im359 19 Jun, 2021 @ 11:14am
sorry but there are two screenshots in this page that show "elevated" mode of tracks... that means we cannot build that in game?
clus  [author] 19 Jun, 2021 @ 8:38am
Simple answer ... you can't "force" them in to bridge mode. Station tracks are networks with only one elevation ... in other words, there is no "brigde" model included.
im359 19 Jun, 2021 @ 5:34am
... but I just saw someone else report similar problem in Fine Road Tool, so not such which caused the problem
im359 19 Jun, 2021 @ 5:31am
same problem as chansheunglong here

Basically, you cannot
1. raise the track when you built (i.e. H always 0m)
2. force the track as elevated mode / bridge mode using fine road tool
3. after you built the track & rise it by Moveit, the ground will stick together
clus  [author] 18 Jun, 2021 @ 3:29am
What do you mean exactly ? You can raise or lower most things with move it.
chansheunglong 17 Jun, 2021 @ 4:43am
I cant get the track elevated, only on the ground, any idea?
clus  [author] 22 May, 2021 @ 10:33am
Can you provide a picture ? Sry ... but I have no clue what exactly is going wrong...
Pariah Dog 22 May, 2021 @ 7:58am
Like "goter127" has said. Some sections show up as only brown with no rails. Then when my train gets to these parts, the whole train just flies vertically up in the air and starts spinning as if it's in a tornado... Am I doing something wrong?
clus  [author] 12 May, 2021 @ 10:40pm
good to hear ! :) If you have more questions or anything else, feel free to add me, if you want.
Coldrifting 11 May, 2021 @ 5:58pm
@clus I figured it out. It had to do with adding pedestrian lanes and a stop type to those lanes.
clus  [author] 11 May, 2021 @ 9:00am
@Coldrifting Sry for the late reply ... what do you mean exactly ? The vanilla station track, as well as these, are all without pillars ...
Coldrifting 30 Apr, 2021 @ 8:09pm
@clus How did you make these? I've been trying to make a copy of the vanilla elevated metro station tracks without pillars, but I can't get them to function as actual station tracks.
hendrack 11 Jan, 2021 @ 2:33am
You know what, I installed MOM anyway. Your stations, especially the central station, combined with MOM and railway replacer is just too awesome to not use it :D
clus  [author] 9 Jan, 2021 @ 10:49pm
@Hanthony Thanks ! :)
@gorter127 The whole point in making these was to provide a vanilla solution to everybody who wants to use something similar to MOM. These are station tracks which work and look like vanilla overground Metro....introduced in to the game via the sunset habor dlc.
What do you mean by "bad rendered" ? They look exactly like vanilla metro tracks. No difference. If you're reffering to the streched textures on the nodes.... that's also vanilla mechanics. Nothing to change about that.... the game isn t designed for wide/big nodes with a huge "corner offset".
Sunshine 9 Jan, 2021 @ 5:09am
Is MOM required for get this working properly? That's not in the discription. Soo the tracks are renderder very bad
Sunshine 9 Jan, 2021 @ 4:45am
Why are the tracks soo bad renderd some parts only brown without tracks?
Hanthony 8 Jan, 2021 @ 6:30am
Finally a way to create curved stations, I love it
clus  [author] 7 Jan, 2021 @ 10:53pm
Haha ... that's something I had in mind. My stations will come in a second version ... either with these tracks or my own ones. ;)
hendrack 7 Jan, 2021 @ 10:45pm
Any chance you release your awesome MOM stations with these tracks? Is this more work than just switching the tracks?
clus  [author] 5 Jan, 2021 @ 11:57pm
Ok ... i've started them already. Expect the single versions tomorrow ! ;)
clus  [author] 5 Jan, 2021 @ 10:04pm
Hey ! Thanks ... I could include a single version as well. Didn't do that because there are no single vanilla metro tracks available atm and I wasn't planning on doing them myself... But i'll look in to that ;)... both tracks and station tracks.
meshd 5 Jan, 2021 @ 4:44pm
this is exactly what i've been looking for. i tried making vanilla single station track and single track a while ago but i ended up not continuing it. thanks for making this set. would've been fantastic if it includes single track but i guess island track can work as well.
