Dragonfall Character Import

I'm hoping this is the right place to ask this. As of right now, I cannot progress with this add-on past getting the 10,000 credstick from Paul to give to Alice for the first meeting. The credstick does not show up in my inventory and when you click on the train, it starts the process then just stays in a lock while the train sounds keep going in the background forever. I've run the usual fix attempts (repair, reinstall, etc) and I am receiving "[ERROR] LoadItemFromDef: fullPath is null or empty from id Haven-PostHotel_AmselCredstick"

Is this something wrong with the game that I'm just going to have to dig further on, or is this something that you may have some idea on how to resolve?

So far it has been working perfecty on my non-UGC character.
Winter Wolf 28 Jul, 2015 @ 6:05pm
Does not import programs on deckers.
aerouge 7 Sep, 2014 @ 3:26am
Replaying Dragonfall with the same character does not work, because some "switches" are tied to your character... this causes the bugs observed. So while this mod DOES allow you to import your character into DF, it does not make you able to run it again and again with the same char.

Still I love this mod. Fell in love with my "from the shadows, run" char, and it is just plain fun to run DMS and DF with him... although he starts severly overpowered.

I love this mod. This is really cool to keep my character, but change completely his gameplay (Mage to Decker/Rigger to Shaman to ... through each playthrough :p)

Not as far as I know, they just built the game in an annoying way. All this mod does is turn an option on.
müendiz 16 May, 2014 @ 6:46am
Hi very nice addon. I have a problem though.
I started an unmooded Dragonfall before starting Deadman's Switch purely because it was on the top of the campaign list. Then halfway thru the campaign I figured I couldnt connect to matrix and havent been thought how it worked.

I installed restartable DMS mod and imported my half way thru dragofnall char. Then I instaleld this mod and imported my character to Dragonfall game. After getting out of the starting mission my quests and conversations was bugged. Conversations with mission NPC's are aleady to the level I advanced. Quest objectives shown already complete whatnot.

I have seen in Description I have checked bugs and you have listed it as a bug.

Is there any work around?
kalaong 15 May, 2014 @ 7:58pm
Nice trick.
Whirlywhoopa  [author] 15 May, 2014 @ 3:24pm
Hi it doesn't need to be updated, the nature of the change means it works with all updates.
kalaong 15 May, 2014 @ 10:57am
On Apr 14th, Harebrained Schemes updated everything to 1.2.6. According to your change notes, you last updated on May 1st. Could you update, too?
Ramethzer0 5 May, 2014 @ 8:48am
Great mod. No issues at all. Even imports my edited characters with zero issues.
Whirlywhoopa  [author] 4 May, 2014 @ 7:42am
There isn't anything to fix, all the mod does is tick a box.
Vilda 3 May, 2014 @ 3:28pm
Well, there appears to be something inherently wrong. After rising skills in DF on character imported from DMS, they've stopped reacting on dialogue checks (I've raised charisma to 7 and suddenly couldn't make a charisma 4 check, same with Biotech 3)
Mystic Mongrel 17 Apr, 2014 @ 7:39pm
I REALLY want this mod, but to use with Dragonfall characters--which seems to be the point--is there any way you can strip quest items from the inventory?
Draekan 23 Mar, 2014 @ 7:00am
Just a heads up.

Played through Dragonfall using a Dead Mans Switch character and I realized that if your imported character wears an armored trenchcoat from Dead Mans Switch, buying the same trenchcoat in late game (same armor value but +1 Body I think) and equiping it will cause your character to just freeze in place. Your cursors will move, you can open your character sheet and all but your character sprite is frozen in place. I have tried buying first and equiping in the safehouse but the same thing happens.

As always, thanks for taking the time to mod :)
Whirlywhoopa  [author] 12 Mar, 2014 @ 7:30pm
It will work fine with the updates.
toadbat 12 Mar, 2014 @ 6:50pm
Hi, thanks for this! Between this and Runner Gen I can start with the gear I think I should have. Anyway, I was wondering if this includes the Dragonfall fixes in the 1.25 update?
Old_Rusted 11 Mar, 2014 @ 9:15am
The problem with deckers in the APEX rissing misson is not the decker it is the deck replace your DMS deck with one bought in DF and you won't have a problem.

Whirlywhoopa Thanks for this mod.
Sib 10 Mar, 2014 @ 10:45am
Wtf
wgering 10 Mar, 2014 @ 12:52am
Second what @kalaong said.

I was using a DMS character re-created and imported from Runner Gen, and the game does not recognize my character as a decker. Quite frustrating
Roninja 9 Mar, 2014 @ 10:27pm
@ Elijah... thanks for pointing people toward Runner Gen, I'm the author. Hopefully somebody has made a better one by now, but idk. Thanks again.
ChronoSe7en 9 Mar, 2014 @ 1:16pm
where do I purchase magic tattoos on this mod?
Nine 9 Mar, 2014 @ 12:57am
That's correct, Iothaber. The issue is that playing through Dragonfall activates certain special quest-related triggers which are saved to the character, making future playthroughs problematic. Dead Man's Switch uses no such triggers.
TarnishedKnight 8 Mar, 2014 @ 4:45am
Cant use the subway for some reason with a DMS imported character

Ouroboros 7 Mar, 2014 @ 11:09pm
I don't understand the warning about the bug, if I import a "dead man's switch" character, there will be no problem?
Nine 7 Mar, 2014 @ 12:02pm
http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=166907432&searchtext=runner+gen

There's the link to the "Runner Gen" tool. Just launch it like you would a regular campaign. Use the vendors provided to get the equipment your character had at the end of Dragonfall, and use the Karma Vending Machine to re-create your skill-set. When you're done, use the center terminal to save the character. Then, launch Dragonfall, and import from the "Runner Gen" save-game you created. Remember to create a NEW character with the Runner Gen. Don't import your actual Dragonfall character, the Runner Gen does NOT get rid of the quest flags.
Wayz 7 Mar, 2014 @ 11:56am
Will you be adding SME gear??
kalaong 7 Mar, 2014 @ 1:51am
Slight bug: in "Apex Rises", the PC is not considered a decker. So bring Blitz if you want to keep your options open.
Pighardia 6 Mar, 2014 @ 6:12pm
Excellent, gonna give this a try. Should have been possible to start with tbh!
pariahjaide 6 Mar, 2014 @ 1:12pm
Any fix yet, my DMS character can't start 1st quest
fralcool 5 Mar, 2014 @ 8:41am
thx dude
risingtide20 5 Mar, 2014 @ 2:55am
Great work!!! Thx.....
sheavilin 4 Mar, 2014 @ 5:02pm
Did have a slight problem importing my Rigger. While his drone was there in his weapons slot, it was flagged as out of commission and thus unusable. I'm wondering if adding a way to access the character's stash so I can swap it out and back into active inventory might clear this up.
IgnusDei 4 Mar, 2014 @ 2:26pm
I'm curious, when the devs update the berlin campaign, will you have to modify this to take advantage of the fixes?
Wolfgang421 3 Mar, 2014 @ 8:36pm
Hey, BlackJaw, mind sharing the import utility? It might help a bit.
Solardream 3 Mar, 2014 @ 2:14pm
I used the 'Runner Gen' Mod, and imported a character from there similar to my Dead man's switch one. Worked perfectly. (except for not saving the decking programmes, and it didn't have any of the Dragonfal portraits, or kit. That's the other Mods fault. it needs an update.)
Still, thank you for making this. Felt like my character can continue on from Seattle to Berlin.
Zugrok 3 Mar, 2014 @ 1:09pm
Didnt work cannot see where to import character
MockLogic 3 Mar, 2014 @ 11:22am
I ran my character through an import utily DLC to clean all the quest flags/etc and then imported it into Dragonfall "Clean," and it's been working fine. The character is of course a bit over powered, but it doens't seem to have issues beyond that.
DocAntiNihilus422 3 Mar, 2014 @ 6:56am
Hmm... from what the others are saying... it sounds like either the mod's dev didn't take plot/quest flags into account...

or the game's devs changed the way that imports work... strange... since they didn't include the option to import a character from say... Dead Man's Switch... seems odd to have plot flags carry over at all.
bob 3 Mar, 2014 @ 12:16am
Re-imported a dragonfall character. All of the quest and dialogue flags were allready raised upponloading the new game. Could not complete first city hub quest and all companions had end of game dialogue options.
Ash Dunmir 2 Mar, 2014 @ 11:18pm
The content doesn't seem to work as was intended. The character (created in Berlin campaign) is imported with a full quest history and because of that the plot cannot be advanced. Tryed 5 times by now and it didn't seem to find a way around it. Any solutions?
175 2 Mar, 2014 @ 11:08pm
I'm having similar issues TheAgarrar is running into. Imported my Dragonfall character, walked into the cafe for the first time, and see Blitz chillin' at his usual table even though I haven't met him yet.
Balekai 2 Mar, 2014 @ 3:28pm
Like the DMS Char Import you're better off to import a character that's clean and hasn't been in either campaign, due to quest flags set in character data messing up the game.
Average Ordinator 2 Mar, 2014 @ 3:27pm
I've played it all the way through, no issues save an outfit bug I had before downloading this. I was able to breeze through the first run or two, but after I completed the humanis mission the game provided the perfect challenge for my character.
Cygnet 2 Mar, 2014 @ 1:24pm
I'm running into an issue where quest completion flags are firing in the wrong order
Sparetime Gamer 2 Mar, 2014 @ 12:46pm
Your DMS Char would overpower everthing and makes the dlc boring.
Sparetime Gamer 2 Mar, 2014 @ 12:46pm
First i was furious that you couldn't import your DMS Char but...there is no really need to.
ChronoSe7en 2 Mar, 2014 @ 12:15pm
Also, I cannot seem to get the magical tattoos to work for Dragonfall.
ChronoSe7en 2 Mar, 2014 @ 12:11pm
The NPC dialouge got messed up when I imported my Runner from my first Dragonfall playthrough. NPCs would start having conversations with me about later parts of the story
Ahbadah 2 Mar, 2014 @ 8:03am
Actually you start Dragonfall with 68-70 karma's worth of stats.
