Yeah, that post is faulty in many ways, the post maker talks about a geolocation spoofer that doesn't work and doesn't send the geolocation to anyone/anything.

I don't see any real reason for concern, I've had the mod since around ~2021 or longer, no issues.

I think he's referring to the discussion about how there's malware coding with geolocation and such.

I just got the game a week ago, have loved every second of it, and this mod was gonna be the first I added, but I'm definitely wary of seeing code that has potential malware.

@chrystales, Stop creating misinformation, whatever faulty anti-virus you have needs to be uninstalled.

@Hari Seldon, Not the author but can tell you that the mod does work perfectly fine, it should also work well with other mods like D4 Overhaul & Expansion, there could be some slight overlap here and there but nothing that would cause it to be unplayable.

@Saint, I'm very doubtful any of the mod's files contain anything malicious. My guess is that possibly it's from any conversions from png, jpg, etc, to svg. Not sure, again, doubtful it's malicious.

If you were able to dig up some code, can you share what files you found said code and possibly the actual code?

Why do the SVG image files in this mod contain a hundred lines of JavaScript code? Seems a bit sketchy, seems to do something with geolocation. Mistake or malicious?

This mod is a complication of the mods from the author, at least at first, I believe it also has it's own features, you can check the other mods included in this one to get a feel for the features, but if that's not enough, check it out yourself!

@Tanrice Assuming they release D5 (and I really hope they do! This series is great) I 100% plan on porting this mod and expanding on it with the ideas listed. I don’t have a lack of ideas and my notes app is full of concepts and only getting larger, but D4 doesn’t allow me to explore these further due to the inability to modify anything but simulation values and the inability to overwrite base game stuff. I also plan to port some popular D4 and D3 mods that have been abandoned to D5 when it does release, assuming I get creator’s permissions. Would also love to try a total overhaul at some point if the tools are there. I workshopped some concepts for a mod where instead of running a country, you’re running the SCP organization. Also workshopped ideas for a futuristic Cyberpunk country having to manage Megacorps and the like. But it’s dependent on D5 coming and having more mod options/documentation of the game’s code.

@Tanrice hey, thank you for the feedback! This is one reason I stopped modding the game (besides the technical issues I ran into). The fact that simulation values are capped at 0 to 1 and that many mechanics can’t be modified really limits what can be done. The lack of modding depth makes it difficult to add new systems such as wars and global affairs or to add options that aren’t just “the best” for any situation. I had plans to add pandemics, a Taiwan invasion, the Ukraine war, civil wars, a panic system, and more but I feel I’ve hit the limit of D4 modding capabilities without just adding content for content’s sake. I also tried to add event chains which didn’t work, and it’s hard to understand why without being able to see the game’s code and how it works.

@Tanrice, The author is very talented, and for a while now haven't been able to update their mod due to issues caused by the game devs, once they can, I'm sure they'll do amazing things.

I read most of the policies and situations, and can only say this is playable, but not very well designed. The most serious problem is that to achieve certain situations, you need to choose the right option several times to trigger(and the effect of the options will last forever, which is not very common in D4 vanilla game)

Despite of this, the mod is really cool. Hopefully someone can rebalance all the figures....

I finished two runs with both USA and UK with %200 difficulty and %200 debt. It works. There are no game breaking bug.

I think the voting update screwed up voting. I've tried multiple strategies and lowered the difficulty as well and I always lose the election.

This mod is super difficult. I stuck it on some super easy settings and I still got voted out.
I tried it 3 times, every time I made it easier. The political capital never got above 16. Really like the policies etc etc but unless you are a super hard right economist or I am missing something it didnt work for me. Soz.

I am a lazy fuck, "they" allows me to get away to say "he/she" in one single word, so yeah, the rest are just perks. Stay lazy people. And yeah, if they/their was good enough for Shakespeare, it's good enough for me.

Lol the whole 'the proper way to refer to singular in English is masculine pronouns' is just downright false. if you don't know a person's gender, it's they. Words such as 'guy', 'man' and 'dude' are casually used as gender neutral but the proper way is to say 'they'.

@adeptus Fremanicus I just have to correct your English. You referred to the maker of this mod as "their" it's made clear in the description that the person creating this mod is an individual. The proper way to refer to an individual if their gender is unknown is by using masculine pronouns which in English are also gender neutral. If there were multiple people working on this mod then the plural would be appropriate, and perhaps I'm incorrect and there are multiple people working on this mod. In that case I apologize for my ignorance.

I never seen one but a good way to give you a good picture is to look at other mods Feelinwitchy made (The creator of this mod) since this mod contains their other mods if I'm not mistaken.

Great mod, however I tried Brazil and Italy and wasn't able to complete single election, man this make game harded a lot. Playing in vanilla Spain was absolute breeze in comparision. Really looking forward on your updates and thanks for the work.

Nope, when you sub to any mod on the workshop it will be in your steam folder, don't use a downloader tool for that, it could give you viruses too.

@feelinwitchy You can recover the files by downloading your own mod using a workshop downloader tool on the internet so you wont have to remake anything

I'm glad to see you're back, well and still holding much ambition for this mod. And I have family who also work in the mental healthcare field so I'm familiar with how tiring it can be.

@Kitts I do hope to get to back to this eventually, and have begun to tinker around with the modding system again to see what I can do and also check out what improvements the creator has added since I was last active. Due to some computer issues, I have lost the ability to update this version of the mod and will have to remake much of it more files I have stored locally. I'm taking this as an opportunity to revisit the balance of the mod as a whole, and I'm trying to utilize real-world statistics more than I did initially (most of these values were informed purely by opinion, lol).
However, I wouldn't expect an update anytime soon. It could be a couple months, or it could be a year. I work as a counselor in the intensive care portion of the mental healthcare field, so any time spent on modding is totally dependent on having energy when I get home from the job. I appreciate your concern, and I promise that the mod will get a sizable content update at some point in the future :)
