@Canny_Bol Efficient use of internal thrust. Small Hydrogen Thrusters are very efficient for the space they take up. There are a few downsides though, such as limited fuel capacity, but the worse one is the potential lag due to game code issues. Fortunately that's not too bad for this ship, but the lag was the main reason why I waited so long to try building ships this big with internal hydrogen thrust.

How'd you get it to go so fast? I can wade into a fight between like 20 ships and be fine, and yet it speeds like I've never seen.

@Canny_Bol Thanks!

Man, this ship is beautiful. I'm going to put so many torpedoes on this baby. Very good and nice design, 10000/10 for verticality.

Ah, thanks man, its cool to get proper insight on how ya'll manage to build these things lol

@[Omega] I really ought to write something down, would be easier to reply to this kind of question, lol. I've done it a few different ways tbh, but usually once I have a ship idea, I begin with the engine hull, then build out the rough shape of the hull from there and the engine. I work out the internals, finish those, then do the details for the exterior.

Really enjoying looking around you KDI vessels (especially this one). Whats your sorta build process with stacked, expanse style ships like these?
Papple2  [author] 16 Aug, 2021 @ 8:32pm
@Sintharia Glad you like them!
Sintharia 16 Aug, 2021 @ 8:01pm
Yeah it's not a big deal. I really love the ships regardless. Especially the "brake" system. Also a big Expanse fan myself :)
Papple2  [author] 16 Aug, 2021 @ 7:58pm
@Sintharia Yeah, the glass "stairs" work as airtight, because reasons. If you grind them down, they'll stop being airtight. *Shrugs* I am considering using the new armor panels instead, but it would take a bit of effort to update my workshop ships.
Sintharia 16 Aug, 2021 @ 7:38pm
As an aside the internal pressurisation of the ship is a bit wonky between levels, but I think that is possibly a function of the size and possibly the use of those sloped glass panels as "stairs".

"It's a little difficult to search the engine."

Yep! Note I couldn't get any engines to do anything terribly dramatic that actually threaten the function of the ship, so if you fly around enough it's a self correcting problem as all the misplaced thrusters explode. After that it's fine, at least that's how I dealt with it!
Papple2  [author] 16 Aug, 2021 @ 7:31pm
@Sintharia Thanks! I think I got all of them. Do let me know if I missed any though. It's a little difficult to search the engine. I really appreciate your help here.
Sintharia 16 Aug, 2021 @ 7:09pm
I just tested it again. I can fly around for a while and all is fine, but when I leave the cockpit seat, I hear several explosions. I went down into the engine compartment and had a look around, and found several of the thrusters attached in a strange way, and all of them heavily damaged. I'll see if Steam will let me link some screenshots:

@Sintharia It definitely shouldn't do that. I'll take a look, but any additional details you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks for letting me know.
Sintharia 16 Aug, 2021 @ 11:15am
Thruster/engine room has a habit of spontaneously exploding when you try to move.
Papple2  [author] 20 Jun, 2021 @ 10:40am
@Freakzz Please read the Important Note near the top of the page. If you haven't done the conveyer bug fix, it's likely you'll experience lag.
Freakzz 20 Jun, 2021 @ 10:38am
When i move the server lag
Papple2  [author] 22 Mar, 2021 @ 5:22pm
@Xev88gaming Yeah, regrettably that is the case with SE (and also my obsession with building faster and faster ships). Honestly I thought the Amarok was pushing it, and then I decided that I'd go and make this. I did at least test that the fix would prevent major issues, and I compared it to other large ships I've made, and found that with the fix, the performance impact wasn't very different. Still, it does make me very hesitant to build large ships with hydrogen engines.

nvm didnt read the thing i see
VeyOwlet 22 Mar, 2021 @ 3:34pm
tryed to use in server lagged when it moved :(
Papple2  [author] 5 Jan, 2021 @ 5:06pm
Yes, the thrusters are spaced to avoid thruster damage issues. If you do find thrusters causing damage, please let me know, as they shouldn't be doing that.
Eevee 5 Jan, 2021 @ 3:32am
are the thrusters spaced far enough away so they dont destroy each other?
Papple2  [author] 31 Dec, 2020 @ 9:11am
@Taidyr Internal thrusters are not heresy! They are the way!
Taidyr 31 Dec, 2020 @ 12:13am
heresy has never been more beautiful.
reishen1116 26 Dec, 2020 @ 1:16pm
thank you!
Papple2  [author] 26 Dec, 2020 @ 9:46am
@Mantha Thank you, that was the aim.

@reishen1116 Thank you. Retro braking script needs to be run with the argument "on".
reishen1116 25 Dec, 2020 @ 10:05pm
Love your ship designs! They are heavily inspiring my own. Question... I can't find the retro braking script anywhere on the workshop. what is the argument to trigger the flip and burn?
Mantha 25 Dec, 2020 @ 9:29pm
Now THAT is a battleship. :selike:
Papple2  [author] 25 Dec, 2020 @ 7:52pm
Probably a good plan, lol, unless you happen to walk around in your own battleship.
DerMakrat 25 Dec, 2020 @ 5:16pm
damn thats a lot of armor and Turrets. do not want to cross that when its hostile.
Papple2  [author] 25 Dec, 2020 @ 3:08pm
Thanks, lol.

Hude ship, I love the design. It looks cool, keep up the great work :selike:
