Report a translation problem
Instead of rolling with the default shader in Unity, I dragged the texture onto the model, to get a shader I could modify (the default one doesn't let you). In the inspector on the right side of the Unity program, I checked the "Emission" box, and dragged the texture on there again, however there is a "HDR" colour selection field next to it still. Clicking that I was able to increase the intensity of the colour, making it glow.
