Bots getting stuck after repairing systems/leaks in Ballast tank A. Not climbing up ladders and getting stuck in the left side of the tank while calling for diving suits and oxygen. Many drowning.

Seems there was an incorrect tag on the pump that caused the entire crew to try to manually work it lol

After actually look into the situation~
I find that the bots are actually trying to "use" the pump in the front of the sub!
The in-game task manager saying that they're "operating" the pump to pump out water?
Something is definitely wrong about this~ Since it's automatically controlled!
And the bots never trying to "use" the pump in the back of the sub!

Found a problem with the new design!!
The bots are constantly going into the new front ballast for no reason!
They are basically just keep wearing the diving suit wasting oxygen for no reason! Need to find a way to fix that! Thanks!

@FGK All the tweak would be is a slight expansion of the rear ballast and stretching the sizing of the rooms. As for a shuttle, I would think it too obstructive for the main sub, but I can post a separate mod with it on there for you or something similar. And thanks Soap for the suggestions, they've been helpful and an overall improvement to the sub.

there are also a little some space on the unused area at the top left and right of the sub it depend on you want that to be a mini ballast or not.

Hey, I just had a quick thought...
Is it possible to attach a shuttle like... act as an extra ballast tank??
If people don't want it, they can simply detach the shuttle and never buy it back at the shop!
It didn't necessarily needed to change the ship structure either.
You can try to attach it outside the sub!

Well... Now I know the cost to achieve 16 km/h to 22 km/h...
I don't think it's worth it, so I would say scrap that...
But may I ask what you gonna do to the sub in order to achieve the "2 km/h tweak at most" you mentioned?

It seems that the only way to improve descent more than marginally would be to have the areas below the fabrication room and diving suit room act as ballasts. It would up the descent speed from 16 km/h to about 22 km/h although there is no way to change the ascent speed at all. Also, any volatile materials that you might have in the fabrication area would be in more danger from a sudden hull breach, and the AI panics at the open ballast and goes to put on a diving suit. I could put in the change if you all think the drawbacks are worth it, or I could do maybe a 2 km/h tweak at most.

there is a room in front of the right ballast that you can open up for extra water filling without altering the ship presently. and also there are not many space left for extra space like the only bottom of the engine i can think of. if no other option, you can try manually break the diving suit room/ top armory room for extra water for temporary extra dive speed

Yes! If you can make a better maximum descent speed(namely larger), it would be really useful because in later campaign, when trying to move the sub down while there's a upward "water current" constantly pushing the sub up is really annoying...

ascent (go up) is fixed at a max speed but the acceleration rate is positively relate to ballast size. descent (go down) also positively relate to ballast size but it can exceed the ascent max speed and acceleration rate according to how much you give your sub the ballast(s). im long time did not play the game, i might be wrong if something changes to this mechanic.

also i had custom make the door become auto-door on the armory room, batteries room, top-down ladder door of top to mid by copying the setting and adding a motion detector wired to the door like the default auto-door present in the ship. since those area are now public accessible to anyone.

Quality of life tweak : ok, to make things even better, the diving suit locker and oxygen tank shelf seem to has a power input that's when its link to power, they recharge bottle automatically like the oxygen generator. XD

This is actually a pretty good ship setup for the ol' humpback
