This map promises to be the tenth circle of hell and delivers
10/10, takes 2 years off my life every time I attempt it

Sieht gut aus, hat meinen mit Windows 11 betriebenen Rechner zum Absturz gebracht.

You do realise that 5 metro lines exist in Amsterdam. Why did you go with trams? Trams are just busses in Amsterdam you know. (other words, have you ever seen a bus in Amsterdam)

I try to be top 5% on every map and daily challenge. I get to top 3% on most of them. Not on this one. I get to top 35% and rage quit every single time. lol

So, I've played the map multiple times now, and I always had the following problems:
- unique stations such as star, tear, etc. spawn to close to each other
- most of the time the choice between brigdes and trams
- new line offered to seldom
MochaSpit 18 May, 2022 @ 1:44am
The game never once offered me another line, so I was forced to only use the original three lines, and I somehow managed to get 926 on my very first try of the map, which is almost the second challenge complete. I am feeling emotions.

The trams are so cool. I wanna visit again :(
QuantumSushi 13 Sep, 2021 @ 12:56pm
I do appreciate the effort. However, considering the map uses trams instead of trains (4 passengers each, instead of 6) I see two problems:
- stations spawn too frequently
- way too few bridges available
by solving even one of them could improve drastically our experience.
I'm eager to try an imroved version of this map : )

"Noord is geen Amsterdam"

A well done map but too few bridges available for the map.

I wish you would make it more realistic. There's a lot op lines to open, but you'll die before you reach the first five lines. It's so sad
antonton 24 Mar, 2021 @ 6:37am
this map is impossible to play!

Try going to Rotterdam one day.

It might me a bit shocking to say as an Amsterdam local but Rotterdam is a beautiful city with an even bigger subway system than Amsterdam. Whereas the Amsterdam subway network feels more like an afterthought (except when traveling to Zuidoost), the Rotterdam subway system is essential to this ever growing metropolitan area (and their system is 9 years older than Amsterdam's system). They even have subways going to other cities (The Hague and Hoek van Holland), though admittedly they just took over two train connections from the national rail company and fitted a subway on to it. Still cool though to have an subway directly stop at the beach in 2022!

Alright I think I got this under control
5 more stations pop up
Alright I got that covered
Stations pop up near the canals
Stations instantly have passengers
Alright that's a little challenging
Every single station is overflowing
alright this is concerning let's see if we can fix this
it was not fixed
rinse and repeat 5 times

7/10 map, chaotic good energy

Good morning, evening, or night depending on where you are. I hope everyone's doing well. I just wanted to get the word out that I released a long overdue update to the map where special stations (star, wedge, cross, etc...) now appear throughout the playthrough. They appear later on in your run to sort of give you a bit of breathing room to develop the bridge system before you're hit with the special stations. It's also really nice to see that some Dutch and local Amsterdammers are enjoying the map and its commitment to staying true to Amsterdam's actual tram system, I really appreciate the comments from everyone who enjoys the map and playing it and I assure you that they don't go unnoticed. (continued below)

At the end of the day, I made the Buenos Aires and Amsterdam maps not only because one is my hometown and the other is in my opinion one of the most beautiful cities on Earth, but also because I wanted both residents and people who haven't visited the cities before to have some fun (or understandably some frustration) navigating Amsterdam's extensive canals and Buenos Aires' branching metro. I sincerely hope you enjoy these maps as much as I enjoyed making and playing them! :)

I know I said I'd release them after exams ended, but some stuff came up after them. Either way, the update is finally here, so enjoy!

NGL when I saw the colors of the lines of the Montreal map (orange, green, yellow) it reminded me of Amsterdam because those were the exact colors used IRL here! Great that someone actually made a map. Seeing how many bridges I'm gonna need this'll probs be like hell haha :IAMSOLAME: :104:
Taluwer 23 Dec, 2020 @ 2:47pm
This is bullshit I died with only 500 pts no extra lines no bridges :(

Loved it tho.

Hi, I'm working on a fix. Expect it to be ready before Monday.
KyleXian 8 Dec, 2020 @ 11:15am
Hi Duckhorse, exactly increasing the chance for new lines to spawn. Of course that might make the current challenges easier to conquer so that maybe you will have to increase the difficulty of the current challenges to keep the fun. BTW during my game play there was no other stations except for circle, square and triangle? As you mentioned in your city description here, there are a lot of well-known tourist destinations so I think other stations such as pentagons definitely should appear in this map. (And what about increase a challenge such as connecting all special stations with only one line (this corresponds to the real-life hop-on-hop-off bus for tourists. Yet I am not sure whether it is possible in the current framing work of steam workshop).
Duckhorse  [author] 8 Dec, 2020 @ 8:02am
Hi Kyle! I've fixed the description and the zoom issues that you've pointed out. However, I'm at a loss at what you go on to say. Are you suggesting that I increase the chance for new lines to spawn and that I should add harder challenges? I will mention though, that the reason that there are 19 lines is that 19 lines actually go through the real-life Amsterdam tram & metro system, so I've put that amount to keep it realistic. As you've mentioned though, the challenges can be completed with 5-6 lines.

Someone already has pointed out a level of difficulty regarding tram shortage so I'll be looking into that soon.
KyleXian 8 Dec, 2020 @ 1:26am
Hi Duckhorse, thank you very much for the challenging map. The canals in Amsterdam are definitely a must and you did it so well! I don't know whether it happens to me only: the map zooms out to the max just in the first seconds of the game play and I thought maybe this is a bug? And there is no other stations except for circle, square and triangle? And did you mean really to have a less chance to get new lines when assets are provided at the beginning of each weak (19 lines is theoretically possible according to your setup however during my plays for 3 times I never reached the sixth line until defeating all your challenges)? BTW the short description in the city selection page seems to include some ".json" wording maybe you still want to update there?

Thanks coenvijge!

Fantastische kaart!

(In case you are not from Amsterdam/the Netherlands: thanks a lot for this great map. The best map of the game!).
Duckhorse  [author] 5 Dec, 2020 @ 10:00am
Thanks for the feedback! I'll see what I can do about the tram shortage.
Sir Ludicrous 5 Dec, 2020 @ 9:53am
The shortage on bridges makes the level challenging (but the good kinda challenge)

The lack of extra trams (or rather the bare minimum to serve every line) made the level impossible for me :D
Duckhorse  [author] 4 Dec, 2020 @ 9:35am
It's for more experienced players. What did you find difficult?
Sir Ludicrous 4 Dec, 2020 @ 9:16am
i might be a noob at this game but this scenario is insanely hard

looks really neat tho :D
