That's not a good solution because it will get overwritten whenever I update or Steam randomly decides to redownload the mod. Instead, create a local mod with those changes and overwrite the concrete mod that way.
Hama 14. okt. kl. 11:11
@WileyCoyote what I did was modify the Components.sbc and Blueprints.sbc files in \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\244850\2298956701\Data to set the amount of stone per concrete to 1 and the weight of concrete to 1 kg. a 10-fold increase in efficiency might seem crazy but it feels pretty balanced for me. obviously you can set it to whatever you want
WileyCoyote 12. okt. kl. 16:31
With the recent updates to the game and how much less gravel is produced, I'm struggling to produce enough gravel to make even moderate amounts of gravel from stone.

So much so, I've blacklisted stone from my primary refineries and built four survival kits just to generate gravel.

Anyone know of a mod that will help me make MORE gravel. I'd never thought I'd be running out.
enenra  [ophavsmand] 10. okt. kl. 10:31
There's about half a dozen mods on the workshop that re-enable the concrete skin, yes.
Hotshot53 10. okt. kl. 10:03
Is there any way to use this mod without disabling the concrete skin?

It makes blocks like Gates and hangar doors and other decorative elements stick out awfully to not be able to use them.
VindictaUK 1. okt. kl. 5:42
hey enenra! im assuming as concrete is more durable than light armour, reinforced concrete is more durable than heavy armour?
Gaelliss 25. sep. kl. 3:58
Thanks a lot for this mod that should have been vanilla.
But since there's new floor blocks in Apex Survival, is it possible to cancel concrete skin desactivation ? (cause new floor blocks can't be built using concrete skin anymore)
Fokey 22. sep. kl. 22:41
why can't this be in the base game ?! gravel is useless otherwise
HarbingerDawn 18. sep. kl. 12:06
@Uzar I figured it went without saying that I was talking about a version that used a different texture set. I'm well aware of why this mod requires the DLC, and that the requirement can't be arbitrarily disabled. I also totally understand if enenra doesn't want to bother making such a version. It would just be really nice to have since this is the ideal implementation of a concrete blocks mod (just using gravel as the source material).
Uzar 18. sep. kl. 0:12
@HarbingerDawn this is very much out of enenra hands. The texture used on the blocks is a DLC texture / skin. If enenra uploaded the mod without the DLC requirements, the mod either wouldn’t work without the DLC or enenra would have to violate Steam and Keen rules on content upload (both undesirable).
HarbingerDawn 17. sep. kl. 23:25
Really wish there were a version of this which didn't require the DLC...
enenra  [ophavsmand] 17. sep. kl. 12:08
I don't think gravel has enough uses outside of concrete for literally anyone to care about conversion rate per item. It's literally free real estate.

Concrete also can take much more damage than light armor.
PulguentoSorrindo 16. sep. kl. 6:52
Unfortunately concrete only really makes sense to use early game because as you advance and start mining iron ore it becomes more worthwhile to use light armor to build since the conversion rate for iron ore->ingots is about 70% while the conversion rate for stone->gravel is only 1.4%
Pablo Diablo 9. aug. kl. 14:58
Thanks for the update - excited to have more concrete shapes!
Uzar 7. aug. kl. 0:01
You are awesome. Thank you!
xtc 2. aug. kl. 12:50
ENENRA thank you for making SE a better game and for all your work besides! :)
Desert Ice 29. juli kl. 0:55
ENENRA! You legend, all the other shapes and more besides!
enenra  [ophavsmand] 28. juli kl. 23:15
Nice, good to hear!
damienex 28. juli kl. 14:35
@enenra
We got it working again. Frost redid the mod on the server install and unsubbed/resubed on steam for his client and that got it to work. To test additional stuff on my end I didn't do anything except get today's update and logged in, dropped a block, and no error. So looks like it was just a hiccup on the server side.

Thanks for the assist!
enenra  [ophavsmand] 28. juli kl. 1:23
Okay, concrete component being unavailable should now be fixed.

@Frost Byte / @damienex
Not been able to reproduce the MP issue at all though, even in MP. I have a suspicion it could be one of the following:
1. DS not downloading mod updates issue - it has to be forced. Unfortunately I don't know much more, just that it's common currently.
2. Corrupted local mod download on server / player. This is unfortunately generally common and a Steam / base game issue: https://spaceengineers.wiki.gg/wiki/Fixing_Download_Corruption
enenra  [ophavsmand] 28. juli kl. 0:57
Thanks for the reports, looking into this now. It's strange because I did not encounter the placement issues in my testing.

I've found and fixed the component issue already though, and that will be live shortly.

Can't build components for block even with try to tell the assembler to build a block
Frost Byte 27. juli kl. 22:11
<<< damienex's Serve Admin here

I logged in and was easily able to replicate this error. Below is the server logs that resulted when I tried to place a concrete block.

https://pastebin.com/FsCCpBJX

P.S. There is no option to build concrete in an assembler under the "components" tab. You can only build it by telling the assembler to build the components for a whole block.
damienex 27. juli kl. 19:16
So I don't have too many details right now but since the update whenever I try to place a concrete block I am logged out of game. I am playing on a small multiplayer server with friends and I haven't heard back from the server admin yet but figured I should mention it here.

Basically we have a surface level base with lots of the old concrete blocks present in a survival type game and when I attempt to place one of the concrete blocks, my client freezes, and then I am kicked from server. It puts me on the automatic login screen and then I can reconnect.

What do you need from us to help trouble shoot this? Of course we have other mods on the server too so I am not sure the best way to figure out what is going on here.
Oshion Myrsky 27. juli kl. 18:02
Concrete component is missing with patch 2.0 help my base is gone.

(Being dramatic, it's not gone, just I can't craft the components for the mod. Even tested on a fresh save being the only mod in save.)
Leperconking01 27. juli kl. 16:54
is there a way to get ride of the edge on the new update ?
enenra  [ophavsmand] 27. juli kl. 14:51
The reinforced version does for sure, the normal one might.
Pixiey 20. juni kl. 10:14
Does it present any sort of resistance to thrusters? I don't mind using leveled terrain for landing pads but that would be pretty heccin cool of concrete!
kad.dsl 15. juni kl. 7:07
For anyone having trouble finding Sp!ts' patch to re-enable the skin for other blocks, it's here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3372896786

I use the concrete skin on other blocks quite a bit to represent things like ablative coatings and non-slip surfaces so having it disabled was preventing me from being able to use the concrete mod itself.

Thanks Sp!ts!

Crowmedic 10. juni kl. 9:21
when writing a script for the programmable block, what is the name of the component for concrete for use with something like -MyItemType.MakeComponent("XXX")

great mod too btw. Makes stone far more useful in survival vs having to make everything out of iron.
Mionikoi 5. maj kl. 8:29
Has anyone tested if this works with Industrial Overhaul?
jamstraz 2. mar. kl. 16:46
@Sp!ts where is the patch? is it listed?
LeoBlackburne 4. jan. kl. 11:45
Would you be against adding more shapes to your concrete mod or making another mod as a extension to your original with more shapes?
Sp!ts 27. nov. 2024 kl. 10:15
The sbc method seems to work. I published the patch.
Sp!ts 27. nov. 2024 kl. 9:55
I''l try that, thanks.
enenra  [ophavsmand] 27. nov. 2024 kl. 9:39
modadjuster then likely can't do this, but you can do it as a normal SBC mod. Pretty sure there should be quite a few on the workshop already.
Sp!ts 27. nov. 2024 kl. 9:19
Hi, thanks for the great mods.
I created a patch mod using modadjuster to enable the concrete skin again as you suggested in a previous post but it doesn't seem to work, it loads fine & no errors in the logs, any suggestions?
enenra  [ophavsmand] 16. okt. 2024 kl. 22:17
I'll need to look into it but it's probably one of the settings I tried to make it make less sense tl use concrete on moving grids
flashfireball 16. okt. 2024 kl. 21:44
interesting bug. One of my players just showed me that concrete does not auto convert to ship when disconnected from voxels, but grids made of other blocks are.
enenra  [ophavsmand] 15. okt. 2024 kl. 10:15
Fixed.
enenra  [ophavsmand] 14. okt. 2024 kl. 21:54
whoops. I'll look into it when I get back from work in 10h ish
flashfireball 14. okt. 2024 kl. 15:52
hey just an heads ups since I saw you updated for block categories (that was quick btw) this mod is not tabbed in and looks like a header tab that would contain everything under it.
Mr D Grim 14. okt. 2024 kl. 13:31
So, i don't think mauseloch9000 made that mod yet to reenable the skin.
does anyone know of anyone else who did so?
I want this mod. but also still have access to the concrete skin for normal blocks.
enenra  [ophavsmand] 5. sep. 2024 kl. 23:35
It gets reverted to the base armor skin I believe.
InventorAndCreator 5. sep. 2024 kl. 17:05
What happens if you have the concrete textured armor already in your world??
jamstraz 19. maj 2024 kl. 12:33
@MauseLoch9000 Hows that patch coming?
MauseLoch9000 24. mar. 2024 kl. 7:27
Ah, that sounds like a better idea, will do that instead.
enenra  [ophavsmand] 24. mar. 2024 kl. 2:24
A better solution would be to instead make a patch mod to re-enable the skin. Please do that instead. You essentially just have to include the AssetModifiers.sbc file with the full concrete definition from the vanilla file and Enabled="true" in its header.
MauseLoch9000 23. mar. 2024 kl. 18:13
Would I be allowed to reupload a version of this mod (with credit and link to the mod ontop of the description) where the concrete skin is not locked away? I need it for my own SE server.
I could also reupload the mod unlisted if you want.
