theres a bug with the most recent patch that makes you and the individual you select as a sibling become like a seperate branch from the family and not just get the same parents.

Is there a technical reason for the 1 year limit on the interaction? The reason my group used this mod is that we wanted to all play in the same Dynasty. It worked great for that, but now I have new people that want to join the game, and I don't have a good way to add them to the Dynasty

The mod was created initially for custom created characters to join the house. And for roleplay I think it's better to join the house and not the other way around. But if you don't mind playing not ironman there is a workaround: you can start playing the character you want to join your house -> use the interaction -> switch to the character you wanted to play in the first place

My only problem with this mod is the fact that I always end up joining the Dynasty and House of the person I'm becoming a brother with, rather than them joining the ruling family.

It's not gamebreaking or anything it's just annoying me because it takes away from the immersion lol. if it can't be fixed with this mod it's totally fine

@The Drifter It was the Bavandid's in 867, they start under the Shi'a duke in the Daylam as one of the few playable Zoroastrians. But it's as you say, there's no available mother at the start of the game, just a father with two sons, so the game says that they're half brothers because there's no mother to link them.

And about CK2AGOT thing. I probably will add that a bit later. For now I want to polish this version of the mod so it would be easier and less buggy-er(?) to add extra features on top.

The issue probably was that selected character's mother was not able to be your mother. In that case the mod makes a new character and replaces the original mother, but that part of the code was not working. It should be fixed now. If not - say what characters did you try this with and I will look deeper into it.

I have some ideas what is happening, but if you could say what characters did you try this on I should be able to pinpont the issue exactly.

Tried using this to make my half-brother my actual real brother at the game start (which he probably was, historically), but the game still tells me he's my half-brother even after letting the game run on 5x speed for a bit. Not sure if it's conflicting with other mods, or if that's intended.

Thanks About family ties: in CK2 AGOT you could right-click on the character and select "Join the dynasty", then an event appeared where you could choose how exactly you belong to the character (parent, sibling, child, grandchild, cousin, nephew, etc.), because dead characters couldn't be right-clicked.

I'll add the bastard not joining the house thing. What other family ties options would you like to add to the mod?

My mistake, I actually haven't tried it when I commented. But you're right, this mod does almost exactly what I was looking for, I am leaving an award for it. I think if you changed the name and gave it a nice thumbnail it'll attract a lot of attention as it is something that many of CK3 players want for roleplaying!

Maybe I don't understand you correctly, but the mod already makes you a member of the house of the character you selected to be a sibling of. And you can select anyone(in your diplomatic range), not only custom characters. If I'm misunderstanding you can you explain what did you mean exactly?

Do you think you could make a mod that adopts you in to the dynasty of anyone you choose once you make a character from Ruler designer? Like in CK2's HIP mod
