I just go to steamapps\workshop\content\635260 and replace an existing workshop vehicle since the cars folder never worked for me in the first place, again a workaround I had to find for myself due to the lack of proper mod documentation

Also, I cannot write in much more detail, as me making the axis in blender and rotating it is quite literally all I did to make it work. My advice is to give it a shot in blender to see if it makes any difference
