@Big Brain Tedjam intentionally disables the loot indicators.

I'm using this along with ted jam and I can't see loot indicators but everything else seems to be fine. Any ideas how to fix this issue?

Yeah, I managed to figure out what was the issue. I had the regular version of this mod installed at the same time.

This mods internal name is "WOTCLootIndicator_Extended"
I don't know of any mods that are incompatible that are not already listed in the description.

There is a mod that mentions a incompatibility with a "WOTC Loot Indicator" mod, but it doesn't tell me what mod it is specifically

Ranting is okay as long as it is constructive and not not abusive :)

There's a lot of things that control the visibility and alpha channel, it's almost too much to want to tinker with it as it takes into the current teams, the perk in use, the camera position, the target camera, if the unit is peaking around cover or not, distance between the unit selected and everything else, possible targets, friendly or enemy ...

... and then it splits all that across the Unit Flag itself, the overall Unit Flag Manager, the visibilty manager, and the various xcomgamestate_unit's affected.

Then we hit issues with things like Gotcha Again (Redux) which most people use, that overrides and changes the Flag Manager to do all of it's things.

So it's not an easy thing to adjust is what I'm getting at :) but it is a valid point to note for future investigation.

Yeah its a base game issue. Is it possible to change rules for visibility and the alpha-channel fade somehow? Gonna have to dig further into that config file :trolol:

@RustyDios Sorry about my rant. I just noticed myself its the same but slightly different maybe its just text size. You are not to blame. Its just weird experience with "superseding". You definately have more customisation options available and doing great work.

PS: I will see if units on the ground have the same issue with their hp bar being shown on other levels as well. Thats what I mean. You have units standing on the bridge and units standing below/beneath that bridge on the ground. And their HP bars have the same colour and same priority. I should have made a screenshot.

I'm very sorry you had a bad experience with this mod.
I'm unsure of what you mean by "clipping through the bridge", the Unit Flags use the same rules for visibility and alpha-channel fade as Additional Icons. Nothing is changed in that area.

I know that MCM would be a much-loved feature but it simply can't do what this mod allows you to do by config. I'm sorry that editing a text file is too much of a pain for you, or that the comments and instructions were unclear.

One word of caution: if Rusty updates the mod, any changes you made will get overwritten and have to be redone. There is a way to save your changes, basically by creating a super-simple mod for just your computer. See this guide: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2820842366

XComWOTCLootIndicator_Extended.ini is the one you'll want to look at. It's in <steam install location>\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2285967646\Config, or you can right-click the mod in AML and select "Open in Explorer".

Hi. Thank you for this amazing mod. Been using it since come out. But sometimes I have an issue where some random unit flag got stuck in the middle of my screen. like a sticker you know. Chosen unit flag being most consistent got stuck after I killed one of them. Less often it was VIP flag got stuck at the edge of the screen while I was scrolling the map. Sometimes it was one of my unit on the field got stuck. I can't find a fix tho. Please help.

Is it possible to hide just the stat icon while retaining the numeric display? Would zeroing the stat icon size through config do that?

I only have HP displayed and while the icon is good, I'm a turbo au- minimalist.

Yeah, unfortunately that has been a thing for a long time. Rusty has beat his head against a wall trying to fix it, but it still shows up every now and then. Saving and reloading will get rid of it, or just try to ignore it.

Anyone getting a weird issue where the unit flag gets detached from the unit and just kinda shows somewhere on the screen forever? Not sure if it is 100% this mod that's causing it, but I'm wondering if anyone else has run into it. Or, if someone knows of an incompatibility that does this.

some abilities might have additional effect if will is below a certain percentage. it also shows you how close a soldier is to be shaken or tired because that is percentage based too

I looked into it previously, for some reason showing class icons here bugs out. They repeatably get smaller and smaller and warped. I'm not sure why but the effect didn't look good.

This was around the same time I added the 'unit' icons, which were much more stable. Unfortunately there's no way to set those to the class :( ~sorry

Hi Rusty, I was wondering if itd be possible to add in the class icon to the left of the rest of the icons, similar to the way phoenix point does it? On missions with a bunch of soldiers, seeing what class is where at a glance was very helpful. If the concealment icon was moved down a tad it could go right above it.

If not totally cool, great mod!

Yes, but it would need to utilise the special eventID handler and unique code, similar to how the example does weapon damage, but instead of finding damage it looks specifically for crit. It would be an intermediate level coding venture ... and not something I have the time to make happen atm

Found it! It's XcomWOTCLootIndicator_Extended under the ...\workshop\content\268500\2927275663\Config\2285967646_UnitFrameExtended folder. I had to edit Illogical's refinements config as it set the loot flag to false, I guess it's overwriting just like Rusty mentioned. So for anyone else with this problem, this might work! I just have to test it now. :)

Loot flag not-on is normally because someone is playing LWotC with Illogical's ModJam+Refinements ... where HIS config turns OFF the loot icon by default for "balance"

This isn't set-up for MCM, you need to edit an .ini file. It's incredibly well documented, as all of Rusty's mods are. I think the loot flag should be on by default though. Try clearing your user config files.

For some reason I can't see enemy unit loot icons. I see in the mod description above that there's a toggle for the loot icon, but I can't seem to open mod settings at all for this mod. Does one have to go into some config file to change this? Although I imagine default should be that the icon is always on, so maybe something else is the problem here?

Um, the name? .. lol ... they're given by two different perks that do the same/similar thing.

EnergyShieldEffect is generally used by most shield-granting perks and is typically an AoE, PersonalShield is used mainly by Muton Elites (LWotC/MutonPack/Elite Aliens) and is not an AoE. ...
