As soon as I finish an acceptable version as a test/demo, I will add it as a new item in the workshop. It will no longer be infinite; I imagine it would be overpowered if it were movable and infinite.
I don't know if I should create a version just as a structure.

I hope this new version will be a separate workshop item as it changes so much that you can move the bottles. Will they be infinite still?

I exaggerated the effect a little for the recording,
all of them can be used either in the hand like a lantern or on the ground, and can be turned on or off.

Cool effect. I guess you exaggerate it for better demo. Will all bottles be pickable/movable?

The rewrite is still in its early stages. I had some unexpected issues at work and was unable to use my computer for three weeks. I only returned yesterday.
However, I recorded this preview in case you would like to see how it is progressing, testing a lantern with a speed effect.

Any news on the rewrite? :)

thank you very much for your suggestions ^^ i won't use the marble in the recipe, as i'm going to remake it from scratch, i intend to go another way, but i will make it compatible with island adventures, just taking inspiration from the idea of this one. create the mod in a more balanced way and configuration options and this idea of the mandrake tree is interesting.

Ok cool. Then I can give some improvement suggestions :).

Make it compatible with Island Adventures (exactly same as Shipwrecked expansion in the single-play Don't Starve). There is no marble in that mod so maybe use sand or limestone instead (or even better use their bottles). Make Bioluminescence and more floating water bottle versions.

Option for the bottles rarely not working, maybe randomly or during some seasons or weather.

Option to have to recharge them, very rarely, or you can set the time: like once per year, once per season, once per 5 days.

Some way to make fireflies come back. Get inspired by the old Mandrake Tree mod.

This mod will soon be deprecated. I've just finished an older mod project in my free time, and this will be my next focus. I'll be rewriting it from scratch to avoid issues with the original author, while still giving them credit for the idea. I'll also be adding more content, potentially removing some existing features, and implementing some ideas suggested here on this mod's post.

After years, I will finally work on this. :emilieDare:

Would be great to have more description in the in game mod info.
Also a option to make it more and less costly to build would be cool.

(´。_。`) How... I really didn't see this in the original mod's post, my mistake for not reading it completely, but I hope the author doesn't mind, since the original mod hasn't been updated for a few years. But I intend to make a version of this one from scratch so I don't have any problems, I'm just busy with some work.

Thanks for the warning!

You are lucky that the original author of the mod didn't did anything.

I wish we could pick these up and move around with them like we could with a regular base game Lantern, but other than that this mod is nice

Love this mod honestly. My only gripe with it is I have to remember not to have my chester around when collecting loot from around the poison bottles. Any chance there could be an option to avoid this?

I knew it wasn't the stack mod causing it or having any issues with this directly, just wanted to give as much info as I could to make sure that things were communicated. Lol, I kinda figured it was removing the HP from the stored item, just wanted to give a heads up so it's known that it happens and it's not something potentially worse. If it is able to be fixed, awesome! If not, ah well. Lmao, just have to be a little more strategic about the placement of them. Lol

I tested it with living entities in the inventory near the poison bottle, the problem is that it is slowly removing the creature's hp, whatever, as it doesn't leave the loot after death it looks like it just disappeared from the inventory. The problem is not with your stack mod.

To add: The creature stacking mod in question is the Stacks 2.0 mod (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=398570591&searchtext=stacks+2.0)

The poison bottles seem to cause issues with living creatures. When near a poison bottle with butterflies/birds/rabbits the creature (stack in this case, due to a separate mod) will despawn from within the player inventory within about 5 secs of being near a poison bottle. Not sure if this is an issue from the original or only this one, but wanted to let people know about it.
