Stockpile Stack Limit (Continued)

This mod doesn't work properly for storage shelves. As VLAX said, the pawns get stuck in loops when dropping off items.

Side note about what I said, I was not attempting this in an LWM shelf, but on plain ground stockpiles

This mod doesn't really work for my list, I suspect LWM Deep Storage might be involved or something else... the pawns get stuck in a loop of pickup and dropoff to the same spot sometimes. Is there a known incompatibility list yet?
Dosboy 10 Aug @ 7:09pm
Should this work with food? I normally put a 1 tile stockpile in my prison and make sure there are at least 2 but it takes all my food and puts it there even though I have the limit set at 2.
ypszincs 29 Jul @ 1:50am
It took a while to find that this mod causes problem with stacking. Usually with food. It doesn't want to stack the 1 or 2x3 stacks of food on shelves. Happened with textiles too, but it never really works with food :/

@Mlie, thanks a million for keeping this alive. If you get a sec, would you consider copying the function description onto this page? What's here is mostly explaining credit/testing, and you have to go two links deep to find a text description of what the mod does.
Smock 19th BN 23 Jul @ 11:23am
does this disable the multistack for shelves, etc? everything that had 3 stacks on it before now is only allowing 1, even if i didnt put a stack limit on it

Ugh, so Adaptive Storage Framework and this don't play well together? Sad. Hopefully the Adapted crew keep updating their mod to make it more compatible, especially seeing as the other storage option via Deep Storage has an unknown future with the new baby arrival in her life.

Same as the poster below. This conflicts with Adaptive Storage Framework sadly.

Would it be possible to get this working with https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/workshop/filedetails/?id=3033901359 ? I wanted to use this together with https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3484671309

@Mile: Awesome, thanks! And also: thanks for all the mods you keep alive! I can only imagine the amount of time you put into it! Cudos!
Mlie  [author] 1 Jul @ 1:11pm
@Side1iner Fixed now
Side1iner 1 Jul @ 2:05am
Playing 1.6 this doesn't work for me. Clicking on the "Total stack limit" button (to set the max stack), nothing happens. As is the button is simply unused.

@MayzaTH Congratulations, you won the award for the least information provided in a bug report.
MayzaTH 15 Jun @ 4:00am
The game crashed . This is no longer working
Kumamanuma 22 Mar @ 10:26am
I think using any other stack size mods causes the infinite stocking loop bug. When I uninstalled Orgestack, this issue stopped. I then installed Stack xxl and the stocking loop bug came back. This really sucks because using these mods was why I needed the stack limit size in the first place. Kind of a "you can't use one with the other, but you don't need one without the other" situation.
Kcancaro 4 Mar @ 11:16pm
There seems to be a bug with the Neat Storage mod on 1.5, where the stockpile system limits all items to a certain value, causing everything to spread.

Can confirm that the hauling back and forth issue still persists after the update

It is broken, you cannot use zis mod as ze hauler vill just endlessly haul ze food back and forth and back and forth
arl85 6 Feb @ 10:27pm
@Serp according to release notes, version 1.5.1 released middle january should have fixed the issue of endless moving around items between stockpiles; not sure if it's your issue
Serp 6 Feb @ 12:46pm
yes, what ari85 said was also my experience when I played 2 years ago with this mod. Its a waste of colonists time this way, but better than nothing.. would be nice if this can be changed.

I tested this mod again yesterday with several other mods, and had the problem others described, that a colonist is stuck between 2 piles forever (bringing 75 to limited pile, carrying 74 back and then forever moving 74 back and forth between the two piles, although the current amount of the pile did not change. Since ari85 did not experience this, I assume its a mod conflict (can not test it myself with only this mod active currently because have too many mods active, takes way to long to enable them again, just for testing :D)
arl85 6 Feb @ 10:16am
I think it is because of how moving items works and I think is vanilla-like.
A stack of items is selected (probably based on distance source-destination). The stack is then moved to destination. Mod checks if stack is now over imposed limit: if so, the stack is splitted to limit. Excess items are moved to another area.
If another area is not available, items cannot be moved and stack is not splitted.

Not sure if it's a bug; maybe it could be changed to split at sources instead of splitting at destination, not sure

@clocknova and others who said this mod is not working.

I found that this mod works ok but only if you have enough space for keeping excess resources.

let's me explain with an example: start a new game, create a 1x1 zone, set it to only accept steel and set a limit of 1.
Pawn will fill it with a full stack of steel (75 items) vs the 1 you expect.

but as soon as you create another zone accepting steel with no limits, pawn move the 74 "extra" steels from your 1x1 zone to the other bigger zone, leaving exactly 1 steel, as you expect.

This mod does not work at all.
fabio.pinhao.mello 18 Jan @ 9:01am
Too bad the mod doesn't work with LWM's Deep Storage
Shiro Nekuro 8 Jan @ 5:58am
works fine on regular stockpile zone but crashes as soon as a pawn interacted with LWM's deepstorage buildings that has been limited. So just put a stockpile zone don't use LWM's deepstorage buildings.
Harkan Alexander Cross 7 Jan @ 3:52pm
Anyone know why the game would freeze for a short period then crash when trying to use this mod? It does not happen when it is paused but if I have changed anything in the settings for a shelf and then unpause it, it freezes then crashes shortly after.
Kuratheris 14 Dec, 2024 @ 2:17pm
Oh jeez, I posted that in the wrong mod comments, sorry, lol. This mod has no issues regarding Misc Turrets which is what that was about.
Mlie  [author] 13 Dec, 2024 @ 10:59pm
@Kuratheris Could you link to that mod?
Kuratheris 13 Dec, 2024 @ 5:45pm
I've found that the issue of weapons not disappearing after being put in the turret, or "falling out" of it, is caused by the mod Stack Gap.

@Hellsvien You can share the actual log-file. Its called Player.log and is in the game config-folder
Hellsvien 23 Nov, 2024 @ 5:14am
Hey Mile, I dont even get a chance to get the logs, it crashes straight to desktop immediately. Its a pity, cause this mod is greatly appreciated and essential for my kitchen :(

Very poorly coded - the pawns just keep moving items from one stockpile to another in infinite loops.
Elfie 1 Oct, 2024 @ 2:04pm
Does not work with Vanilla stockpiles with LWM deep storage installed. Didn't bother testing without. Users beware. Pawns will try and haul more than the limit and then haul away the "extra" again in a cycle. It will pull every free pawn that can haul (colonists and misc. robots).
NuanKi 18 Jun, 2024 @ 5:29pm
use KanbanStockpile
Natex 31 May, 2024 @ 5:56am
As of today in 1.5, I can assure you that this mod is not working, not on stockpiles nor on shelves.
Stupid kid 9 May, 2024 @ 6:59am
sadly, uncompatible with LWM's storage
[Rl]SunSetMoon 5 May, 2024 @ 10:46am
there is new problem, when use this mod without any storage mod. the pawns only stack 2 stacks of items on a vanilla shelf that can hold 6 stacks
億KiotheCloud四 1 May, 2024 @ 2:41am
I have a different kind of issue idk why but my haulers are confuse when I place 1 stockpile with a max capacity of 25 they keep filling it up and taking it away constantly I dont have LWM and vanilla shelves cannot carry multiple of the same stuff on 1 tile anymore with this mod on.
