To spectate type spectate in console.
To exit spectator mode press R(+reload)

i know but the xen grenade just instantly kills you even in godmode

Honestly the best mod to use for npcs wars but the problem with this mod is that the player can still die from any npcs shooting and the xen grenade mod

I wish it would teleport me back to where I initiated the spectator mode when I exit.

Can you "teleport" your camera to players or see them outlined through walls like an X-Ray?
