I really wanted to use Align but it wobbled a tiny bit too much for my taste. No way to configure that made me lose interest, plus as I learned it seems to be more of a graphical thing that doesn't actually affect the point of impact during wobbling.
Now trust me on this: try raising the weapon sway. You can do it from either ACE fatigue or the Recoil Coefficient Changer I mentioned. Something between 1.5 and 2.0 is fine, 1.7 is what I've settled for.
You will suddenly realize that having a surface to rest your gun on seems like a great idea. You may realize that being caught in the open, out of breath and without one such place to rest your weapon, is not the best course of action. You will start looking at rocks or trees as tactical elements that allow you to accurately return fire, and also you may appreciate full-auto a bit more when you're on the move and can't quite line up a shot.
It's a lot of fun, best enjoyed with not too accurate enemy AI!
Great minds meet :P !
I also play with LAMBS and a suppress mod, and I also add a mod for weapon sway (align).
I don't know "Simple Suppress" or "Recoil Coefficient Changer", but I'll try them for our gameplay, thanks for making me discover them !
I think I'll update my mod as soon as I have some free time.
Too bad we don't speak the same language, otherwise we could have played together, since we have the same vision of the game.
To be fair, I started out thinking that less zoom would make for better engagements, where suppressive fire and maneuver have a higher importance. However what I've resorted to in the end is a combination of:
1) higher player weapon sway (via ACE fatigue)
2) slightly higher recoil (via Recoil Coefficient Changer, can also affect sway instead of ACE)
3) a slight suppression effect against players (via Simple Suppress)
4) better AI response (via LAMBS_Danger.fsm and LAMBS_Suppression)
I find that this combination gives amazing feedback, at least compared to vanilla. Suppression has a real function, firefights last longer and are much more involving, like a "tug of war" if you know what I mean. I'll still toy around with your mod when it's updated, but for now I think I've found a great solution to my needs.
I'll make a vanilla version when I have some time :).
I can also make a version that zooms automatically, but right now I'm running out of time.
Thanks!
I will made an AiO soon ;) !
