but no numbers, id like to reduce the penalty from -33% to maybe -20%. And where should i look if i want to reduce the "medic promotion" for all warrior-type units? My plan is to reduce their healing and adjacent healing from 5/10 to 3/6. Again thanks for reading.
Make the cavalry extremely strong (mounted and tank units in general) Normal footsoldiers should tremble in fear when they see mounted knights on the horizon (means they get simply overrun unless you got pikemen in your army)
The other idea would be to decreas warriors medic promotion (from 5/10 to 3/6 or something)
im currently using the "combat medic" mod combined with "morale" and "CPPS" (a very nice supply mod) i like the idea of working supply lines behind your troops while warmongering :D
However, the warrior medic promotion is way too efficient for the combat medic to work. My goal is to make your infantry more dependent to their compat medics. Please forgive my english for it is not my first languge. And again thanks for all your support and help!
You can manually delete the promotion for every unit that you want to change, but I would caution against this. If you want to make additional changes, I would suggest that you rather make a mod yourself; the process is not too complicated, and there are plenty of tutorials showing you how to do so. I would be happy to take a look at any mods you write to help troubleshoot issues.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
This is due to the fact that the penalty is a promotion given to the horsemen when they are created. You can test that the mod is working by loading a game with the mod enabled and checking the in-game Civilopedia, or by starting a new game in the medieval era and training a horseman.
After that i looked through the XML file and tried to find a modifier. I was hoping that i could find a line like
Default value -33%
new value 0%
Maybe you can show me (if i'm still worth your time) how to change the value by hand so i can try to make my own adjustments. I always wanted to make some custom tweaks for all the promotions but never knew how to get started or find the corresponding files which let me customize the promotions. Thanks for reading and thank you for the effort sir!
You have no idea how quickly i've installed your newest mod. Thanks to your work, Civ V almost looks balanced to me, your tweaks really gives the game a much needed breath of fresh air.
If you still deem me worthy of your time, i''d also like to decrease the medic promotion of the footsoldier (to make the horsemen a bit better)
Thank you for being such a big help, i really appreciate all the time youve invested in our conversation!
However, is it possible to decrease horsemens penalty when attacking a city?
Thank you for your time and effort to make Civ V a better game!
