hi i think you have to find jars of the gunpowder, or use mortar and pestle with coldpacks / saltpeter.

crafting helper mod is pretty useful too, in case some mods you are using have patches for it :)

Are casings supposed to be visibly ejecting onto the ground? The sandbox setting makes no difference because they always appear in my inventory.

I cant use the reloading press for crafting bullets, when I place it somewhere it isnt clickeable, I suppose thats the way I should do it since its my first time using this mod, but it doesnt seem to work

Please be careful with your updates, stuff is getting screwed up for b41, which is pretty important because that's where multiplayer is.

1: I can't take the primers of out 5.56 spent casings
2: the crafting tree is screwed up a bit, I can't find any way to use a re-primed 7.62 casing, the legacy press just deletes the result; im stuck with some useless re-primed 7.62 casings and a useless 7.62 mold.

Somehow the reloader presses (e.g. in hardware stores) I found aren't clickable anymore.

@SDgamer I'll see how long it take to get a patch together. It adds more calibers than Rain's did but about the same as Firearms so shouldn't be too long.

.223 Casings and Bullets are used to make 5.56x45 rounds same with the 7.62 dropping .308 casings. They are also used to make 7.62x51mm ammo. I should probably make that clearer, it used to have a tooltip I think.

@Peizar I plan to make this mode standalone from firearms in the next update so it will be at least compatible with vanilla zomboid. Then maybe I'll see if I can cook up a patch for Rain's Firearms

@F1tgal911 I got modoptions to work in the next update so you'll be able to toggle it yourself in the settings as soon as I get it pushed out. Bullet tips are already supposed to be craftable through the forge with blacksmithing. Primers and casings are still gonna have to be recycled. The tools to make these in the quality needed is just too advanced. Gunpowder is also one of those problems where there is a recipe but it most likely required too niche stuff to be viable. Might up the amount of gunpowder you get from the recipe and just make it stuff you can find in the world. From what I've found in the code and the fact that big rocks are put around the map it seems like there is a plan for some kind of mining system down the line in Project Zomboid so hopefully that would make it so you could get some of the things needed to make gunpowder in the future.

Btw, I like your idea but could you also create some recipes to make (1) primer, (2) casings, (3) bullet tips and (4) gunpowder? I found some reloading presses already and I would love the idea to make ammo completely myself provided the proper skill requirements are met.

Unfortunately the casings won't go in the inventory despite having this ticket in the sandbox settings.

ok so you need a gunpowder recipe well I know the original one was Charcoal, Salt peter, sulphur, and chicken scat. So going by this you can watch the anime Dr. Stone and learn the refined recipe which both can be made with a few bowls and some common kitchen utensils if that helps.

Trying to get the built in modoptions to cooperate with me to make this setting changeable easily in the options menu. But, there should be a sandbox setting that makes the casings go straight into your inventory.

@ouyin2000 Since I'm working on this and Firearms at the same time I didn't want to have to create a separate patch for Firearms yet so this atm requires my other mod Firearms.

@Torkkar You can craft bullets and gunpowder with this mod. Then you can reuse your casings from ammo you've fired. In B42 it's more integrated with the crafting of the bullets. However I am still not satisfied with gunpowder crafting. Just can't figure out a way someone would be able to create this in any large quantites without some industrial grade equipment.
