For those interested, I've made playthrus and reviews for each map in the contest here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXH3i5dgtKlcxJcOIUWowYBav0DghTbDM

Last bit of weird criticism. I don't know if this is an issue with the map or a limitation of it being in a collection, but I really wish there was some way that you could always return back to the "main area" if you will. I found out that I could make a save that *kinda* works but then I am no longer able to make quick saves mid map. It would have been nice if there was some means of quitting back from inside the maps. I had to delete my save multiple times because during one of the first maps, I played named "Portals" I got stuck at a point where it mentioned it being an eye scanner, but nothing EVER happened past that point. I had no way to return to the hub map, so I had to jump to the title screen to delete my game to then create another game to go back there. That was too many loading screens that I should have ever had to go through.

I still need to play the second page of maps, and they've mostly been okay. I don't have anything majorly positive to say about them

I forget the name, but the one where I go through the Gman door portals thing I had to quit mid way because my game lagged out SUPER hard. There was a zombie in my way and the game kept yelling at me to "arm myself" but I found NO gun in that entire room, and any time I tried to look in the direction of the message the entire game just completely lagged out. I had to quit that one early, I unfortunately never saw the end of it.

The last one that my memory banks can bring back up is the jail escape thing where you have to manually hold a small light and use a hammer to break through some walls. That uh. That sucked. It wasn't fun to do, and despite how low to the ground I tried to crawl, the debree kept getting in the way and blocking me from moving forward. After figuring out I found out I could ditch the hammer entirely and then I was in a pipe room. Then nothing else really happened and it ended. Okay, I guess.

Next one that came to mind was shrouded ascension. If I hadn't thought to bring one of the keycards with me throughout my trip, I almost would have gotten softlocked out of the exit of that map! For some strange reason, there's a door you can never open which is frustrating! I get why it's locked one way for sake of a progression point, but after I get past that point I should be able to open the door and skip going around that loop every time.

Also climbing up was awkward. The beams never seemed to want to support me climbing them up. Some better detection would have been nice.

Alyx in Wonderland was nice! But I found out that if there was an autosave made where you're shrunk you cannot grow back. It was good, but that's really all I have to say about that one. Something to make note of

The second half of Off Guard was fine, but it was the first half I really didn't like. It took me way too many times before I realized that I could even grab grenades off of the combine soldiers (they were barely visible to me) and even then it's an uphill battle if you somehow miss. I think it would have been a lot nicer had the map designer been a bit more forgiving in the intro.

Which speaking of the intro, it took a number of deaths before I realized that I was actually flat out just breaking that map's progression! There's no glass on the doors leading outside so I just walked out. It took me turning around after a number of attempts to realize there was a trip mine there that blew up the moment I grabbed the door handle. I didn't quite care for that because then a combine soldier gets free pot shots at you with zero cover for you to even defend yourself with. Also the collision for the healing station was awkward and took way too many tries for me to be able to land it.

I do not want to come off as sounding too harsh, but a lot of these came out somewhat disappointing. I wish I could make note of the highlights but a lot of the game design approaches that were made made for a slightly more frustrating experience.

It is hard to give constructive criticism on each one but there are a few things I found a little frustrating when it came to playing some of these maps. Off Guard was the one I played most recently so it's the one I have the most vivid thoughts for.
