I agree with you that you can't get everyone to listen, my reccomendation is to add a very big notif. in the mod page saying you would never add the helmet, maybe that would make some progress in preventing people to do so, but not permanent.

well of the 3,000 unique downloads of this mod in over 2 years, you're the first person to say it doesn't work...
it's more likely that you just don't know how to use mods, and have conflicting mods enabled...
