Yo, idk if it's still possible to update this all this time later but the recent update broke her forward air sprite. I'm guessing it's the same case as a lot of other mods that broke from the update and seems to be calling the wrong sprite due to a shared prefix.

Not sure if this is still being updated, but Blaze REALLY needs a better neutral attack.

Her punches are way too small and practically useless. It really gets in the way of using her when her main neutral attack is so small.

Not a necessary addition to improve the character, but I would really like if Blaze had hit sounds that are different from the default ROA library, particularly on her physical non-fire moves. You could probably borrow hit sounds from Sonic Battle like how Tails does. Having unique hit sounds would make landing hits as this character more satisfying.

Blaze is a really fun character to play but is held back by some crippling design flaws such as Jab being unsafe on hit due to insufficient knockback. As well as some very small hitboxes on some of her tilts and strongs. UStrong is particularly weak for its slow frame data and has little utility outside of a mixup against parrying. Her aerials are pretty good and make this character perfect for a hit and run / rushdown playstyle. As a result, she is a character that mostly relies on aerials and specials, due to her underwhelming grounded moves.

I'm not a spriter or a Rivals modder, so I have no clue how difficult these things would be to implement, I just wanted to offer some feedback. Again, I've been having a ton of fun playing her the way she is already, although I do feel like she could have a bit more range on her attacks(particularly side tilt and down tilt) but that's probably just a limitation of the sprites themselves. As I said, Blaze is probably my favorite Sonic character and I've been dying to see her get more love, so thank you for this mod!

1. I think her up B could be replaced by the Axel Tornado, Blaze's up trick. It would likely send her much higher than her current recovery but could also have the tradeoff of being unable to do damage, and it would be more faithful to her original appearance.
2. I think she could also be given a sort of hover mechanic somewhat reminiscent of what Peach has, but she gradually loses height as she uses it. This is also something she had in Sonic Rush and I think it would help her recovery.
3. I don't inherently have a problem with Spin Dash being her down B, but as yet another more faithful option, I think she could have her Burst Dash from Rush instead.
4. I also agree with MaxPlus in that her dash attack feels a little odd, I think she could instead use her Spinning Claw from '06, essentially a fiery pirouette. I also feel like her up tilt could be replaced with a somersault kick like Sonic has, since her current one doesn't feel very useful.

Blaze is probably my favorite Sonic character and I'd unironically love her in Smash over someone like Tails or even Shadow, even though I love Shadow too. This is an excellent mod and I've been having a ton of fun playing as her, but I do have some feedback.

I can tell that her sprites are in the Sonic Advance/Battle style, so a lot of her moves are retooled from other characters(the big ones I can tell are her bair and fsmash being based off of some of Shadow's sprites, as well as her fair being based off of one of Sonic's). This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I think she could have a little bit more originality or use elements from the way she plays in Sonic Rush. The boost gauge is a great way to reference Rush and does that well, but here's some other ideas.

I've been playing Blaze a lot lately, definitely noticed the improvements you've made! In terms of moveset she feels complete now.

There's an edge case with side-b that I was wondering if you could look into. There's a chance that Blaze gets a significant speed increase when holding down boost on the ground. I haven't been able to find a specific cause while testing, but it never happened to me in the air or when spending less then 4 boost points.

It doesn't happen super often, I'm only posting this since it could cost a stock if you're not center stage. Not sure if you were aware already or have any way of fixing it. Just thought I'd let you know.

Really good job on this one. The only "bad" thing I see with Blaze here is her dash attack, it looks a bit silly for an attack you do while running to an opponent.

While I'm quite happy for these kinds of responses there are few things I should mention, first I do see where your thoughts on side special come from, but to compromise I'd be happy to buff the move as is in order to fix this, second SD from Spin Dash is something I'll look into fixing shortly, and third, well I'm without a doubt artistically untalented so for now I'll simply have to keep the similar moves, but hey if I ever get to a point where I'm more artistically good pixel art wise, I'll be sure to fix those moves.

I really like Blaze as a character, and her concept holds up for the most part. Especially her airials and het specials feel really good to use. There's just two things about her I don't get.

1. Her side smash feels underwhelming. It lacks range, and doesn't really kill except at the edge. It feels like there's always a better option to go for.

2. Blaze SD'ing when overcharging the down special is just dumb. I get that you want a maximum charge time. But trapping the opponent in the initial charge up is a neat option. I don't get why it should be punished with a stock.

There are some minor things I could add like decloning some sprites from other characters or giving more uses for the boost meter, but save from the 2 points listed above I feel like she's a well made character.

This could just be me but I fell like it is a pain in the ass to get boost, I felt like it was either cus I suck or the fact the the enemy can take boost away from you when they it you but thats just what I have gathered

Oh believe me I have several ideas, in fact I've had ideas ranging from Metal Sonic, Espio, Sliver, and even Fang the Sniper, the only problem is my lack of pixel art experience, so I plan on spending time learning pixel art for now, but I'm sure that once I can get the hang of it, I'll be back to creating characters in no time.

It could use some tweaking to the Up Special in the air. Currently you fall during the startup of it which makes it worse than it should be. Besides that, she's a great character from one of my favorite games, really pleased with it so far! :maypul:
