@rgranda33 Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do. You can try loading your boat from different angles.
This is due to a limitation of the game engine, maybe one day I'll find a solution.

sometimes pieces of my custom boats despawn when unloaded and then reloaded onto screen, is there something that can be done to fix it?

@Vlad the Lad. The problem doesn't occur on my side, even with Island Adventures. I suspect it's a bad interaction with another mod. Can I have the full report?

Sadly, it seems the last mentioned issue is back. Building a custom boat and re-loading the game crashes the server and produces this error in the log:

When the Caravel boat with bumpers touches land, it gets stuck and won’t move away. If left in that state, the boat will eventually be destroyed.

After the mod was updated on August 7th, it conflicts with the Too Many Items Plus mod, resulting in the inability to enter the world. The error message shows "attempt to index local 'utils' (a boolean value)". Can it be fixed?

I fixed the corruption for new saves. For old saves the only solution for now is to repair them manually, but I have hope Klei fix this soon.

@Cuikui @Z4kV󰀁 I have same problem. I've already lost 2 good worlds because I couldn't figure out what was causing crashes. I changed different settings on the PC for several days, until I realized that custom boats from this mod will corrupt the save. After that, removing the mod does not help. Can I still save my... saves?

@Cuikui for some reason after making a custom boat on my world and quitting to menu, upon reopening the world it insta crashes on local or on multiplayer it literally refuses to start i have every other mod aside from this one and my game crashes with little to no error hopefully you can recreate this

@EldVarg Thanks, the elevated bridge is an interesting idea. You can make custom sized bridges with Shipyard flags and the Naval Architect Tools.

Could you make a bigger bridge variant if possible (and more costly)? Maybe a elevated one, ore one that can be opened that other boats can pass under?

@Wolfgang Doghouse. I see, when you build a boat the solution is to make a small raft to place the Naval Architect in the direction you want. If the boat is already built, you can use a Rudder Kit shortly to change the front of the boat.

Ah, bummer!
It's just that making longer ships with the Naval Architect in the rear makes the steering weird. I'd rather swing my rear than my front.
The front is just distasteful, you see. X3

I love this mod, I just wish there was more options in regards to placing the Naval Architect. Like, if it could be manually rotated so it could be placed on the front of a build (with the arrow going outwards/away from the build) would be super helpful.
Still giving it 4.9/5 stars though. One of the best mods for DST.
