Sorry, could have been great, but degenerates (IMHO) into a random wandering with multiple deaths, few of which are avoidable. Not fun and very annoying.

Well, I'm impressed overall, but the basic construction of the levels are quite lacking in terms of quality. I know this is an old map, and I've assumed you've improved in newer work, but just wanted to say that you could improve this map by varying the geometry design (less box shaped rooms with a single texture), sticking to a theme (this map couldn't decide if it had a clean theme, a bts theme, or a reconstructing theme), and reducing visual clutter to streamline the story (less odd corridors and out of place structures / more compact and effiecient chamber design). I had a lot of trouble figuring out what was going on in the gameplay and in the story, for the most part. This is still really great, however, and I wish I shared your talents. I could never make something like this. Cheers! :demoticon:

1. The narrators' voices are just really, really annoying.

2. It is very easy to get stuck in the stage before the tunnel by leaving your cube at the hidden stairwell, then walking away and moving your portals. The cube stays there forever with no way to retrieve it / regenerate it.

3. The tunnel of terror doesn't test spatial recognition ability, or even portaling techniques. Rather, it tests your patience with the map authors with the repeated F6-ing.

4. I took the left exit (jumped over the discouragement field) and ended up in the previous room. I assume I was NOT supposed to return there because of the nodraw. Even with intense cheating (noclip and spawning cubes wherever I want), there is no way to progress. Someone's YouTube video with the description "this FREAKIN MAP I SWEAR TO GOD CANT GET ANY MORE ANNOYING" shows that the right exit was the intended route.

tl;dr: A terribly written map prone to getting you stuck, coupled with voice acting which makes your blood boil.

Looking back on this one, I've come to realize that YUKI_67 would have more evil potential than Yunas Jet. Inferno has surprise laserfields, YUKI_67 has some tough fizzler puzzles. In general, these two users have us convinced that certain testing elements should not exist even though they do...

Thumbs down just for the final boss. What the hell are you supposed to do? I retained a cube and dropped it into the incinerator. Nothing. I'm guessing you're supposed to get the dispenser to drop a reflector cube but how?

The paint gun, as I recall, was originally Valve's idea....and then as I was playing the map again I was beginning to think of Linking-Yellow's boss battle map and some others, which featured this paint gun, and then after some thought, I realized it really wasn't entirely out of character (plus there was a world portal similar to what is seen in Linking-Yellow's maps).

IDK, it's probably just that when I think of Linking-Yellow's stuff I think of specialized world portals. Anyway, good work.

@p0rtalmaster Link made the boss and he created the paint gun (I think, he may correct me if Im wrong), the paint gun is not on this map, but you can see on his maps

Oh, and the plot and character styles were absolutely fascinating. Now correct me if I'm wrong:

> Inferno: laser fields, red herrings and surprises and trickery of sorts (THIS IS A WARNING TO TEST SUBJECTS WHO WISH TO AVOID FRUSTRATION)...
> Yunas Jet: difficult testing, thinking you don't have enough materials when you really do...
> Linking yellow: ways of using world portals (which kinda makes the gel part seem a bit out of character)...
> Arachnaphob: gravity...

got to the 3 button room and killed the turrets and then jumped back over the pit - from there no matter what I do I die. Very unsatisfying.

A couple of minor complaints/bugs. On the boss fight you can grab the red inferno bot right at the beginning of the fight, get to the end of the maze, use blue goo to bounce up and a sliding door will open letting you get to the red bot. This ends the level before all the other stuff is done. The voice acting on the final level is too quiet too.

@P-Bodeh: That's the way inferno likes to make his maps. You do need to get through the tunnel of terror, there is a safe path through it. It just will take you a few tries.
