@chickenDuck: Downloading and will trying. Thank you so much! :)

Should be fixed fixed now
chickenDuck  [author] 23 Oct, 2020 @ 7:56am
Yeah. Fixing it as we speak...
cybe 23 Oct, 2020 @ 7:21am
Hi chickenDuck. Thanks for this great track. A lot of fun driving it and it looks awesome. After the last rFactor update yesterday, the Track hangs @ loading screen (does not get loaded anymore).
Melvin 9 Oct, 2020 @ 9:38am
Thanks chickenDuck for this, this is my local circuit and its really awesome
Atticus 8 Oct, 2020 @ 2:43pm
Hi chickenDuck,

Thank you very much for the reply - the track feels very very good to drive, feels ALIVE, so very very good job without LIDAR data then.

I have very high standards for tracks that are not laser-scanned, but this one I will keep and continue to drive. (Hell, some laser-scanned tracks are actually WORSE than this, e.g. Paul Ricard, Road Atlanta.)

Thanks again,

Atticus

Hi. No this is not laser scanned, places like this will probably never be.

It's made with a similar method to the recent Kyalami track, the guy who made that has a long thread detailing the method on AC forums, I think. So it's photogrammetry data for the base, which gives some pretty good results. Can get cambers and medium to large scale undulations pretty well from it. I mix this with GPS, telemetry data, video, personal knowledge, and whatever else I find useful to do smaller scale road stuff. Because this is public roads most of the year street view helped... :)

@Mak - You might lose some of the trees and additional tso stuff, like reduced crowd detail. But not very much. I can't remember exactly what was in or out.

Hi chickenDuck,

Thank you very much for this track - it's a real gem as it's not available in any of the 'big' sims elsewhere (iR, AC, ACC, R3E, AMS).

Can you tell us if this is laser scanned?

Thanks again,

Atticus

Another superb track from - you also the AIW. Many thanks for this gem. Love the details that can be spotted everywhere around the track. Just had an outstanding high speed battle with some GTEs
Mak80_ 14 Sep, 2020 @ 7:08am
thanks for update
with low circuit detail fps are fine

P.S. but with "low" i lose other part of the track or it reduce only geometry of tyre walls?
Ricardo Leone 12 Sep, 2020 @ 11:41am
Ok, chickenDuck, it's working really well !!! I just reduced the details of the circuit to "low" and I have 60 frames, with Sync on. Very good Job!
Thank you very much, from Brazil IoI
chickenDuck  [author] 12 Sep, 2020 @ 8:48am
If you had low fps try the updated version now, but with circuit detail on low. That is the only way I can swap out geometry. Let me know if and how much it helps. Also try something other than gpu sync if you are using that. I don't really understand it.

@daniel, maybe..... I kinda want to make Dezzi for some reason.

Another great ZA track, deleted my inferior conversion of East London GP from my workshop

How about Killarney? :steamhappy:

"I have a fix for improving framerate on lower spec hardware that should help you out a lot. I'll update it in a few days."

Thank you very much!!!!

Ricardo Leone 10 Sep, 2020 @ 7:10am
It is a very good track, but, very heavy for my machine ... Even impoverishing the graphics, etc., the frames are not in a good number for good gameplay. I also have problems with the Official Nurburgring, but, with some adjustments to the graphics, I manage to get something around 60 frames ... But, in this, impossible ... Unfortunately.
DAZZERX 9 Sep, 2020 @ 8:33pm
It looks incredible! If it keeps updating it can become one of the best tracks, for now the first thing it would modify would be the sea in the background and the ship, maybe make it a little more alive and make the ship move :steamhappy:

Thank you for bringing this great old track to rF2. It looks and drives superbly.
B-Johnson3 6 Sep, 2020 @ 10:00pm
Superb work, great track, drives well, looks good. My only small concern is the last corner onto the finish straight it seems a bit unpredictable, the slightest amount off line and the car spins out of control. I was driving the GTE Aston Martin. The track runs well 32"4k 1080TI, constant 90fps capped, max settings, in car. Replays drop to 70 fps in places running with 34 cars. Thank you.
Xzanman 6 Sep, 2020 @ 3:28pm
I just love driving long tracks and there so few in Rfactor 2,and most of the ones we have look very dated.having a long track made by someone of your skill level would be a dream come true!!
chickenDuck  [author] 6 Sep, 2020 @ 3:14pm
Yeah I get 60 fps 4k on max settings with a 1070ti. So I figured it would mostly be fine. I'll fix something for those with older hardware though. It's the 4 billion individual tyres that are the main problem. I'll simplify them for lower detail levels and see if that makes a difference.

Didn't think of doing it, I'm not even sure there is any data or photos anywhere to even start with it...
Xzanman 6 Sep, 2020 @ 2:41pm
Awesome! fantastic looking and great to drive.thanks for your excellent work chickenduck.
now im waiting for the 23km pre 1959 version ; )
,dont suppose you have any plans for that?
track runs really well for me,max FPS most of the time
dumont 6 Sep, 2020 @ 2:38pm
stunning track thanks runs perfect,,,,,,,
chickenDuck  [author] 6 Sep, 2020 @ 1:32pm
Yeah I have some thoughts... I'll try sort something out for you.
Mak80_ 6 Sep, 2020 @ 11:54am
the only note: track seem a little heavy on my system (20/30 fps). is it possible a future performance optimization?
Mak80_ 6 Sep, 2020 @ 11:14am
finally a good east london track for rf2, thanks!
for me one of the best south african tracks with a lot of history of motorsport
Deadeye Donny The Dealer 6 Sep, 2020 @ 1:08am
Again thanks so much!! Your tracks are always super high quality.
